So the PM is thinking of cutting jobkeeper. PANIC! The Federal Government have realised they have thrown out too much money and are already looking for ways to recoup it. Watch out for news on the “never ever GST” that will “never be more than 10%”. Yeah sure!

DALE SHORT CITY

The bat problem: why hasn’t anyone done as the Aboriginal people have suggested, use smoke?

LEXA, TVL.

Trad gone. Leave the door open Jackie. The three Townsville stooges are not far behind you.

COOP 4814

Trad’s gone, our beloved Premier next. Let’s have someone who actually cares about North of Brisbane. Bring on the elections. L.G.WULGURU.

New treasurer Cameron Dick says that he will let voters know the state of the Queensland finances before the October election. Of course he will. Nothing will change, as Jackie would have done, it will be the day before. REB KELSO

So now our State Treasurer is a “Dick”! That about sums up this government. We really do need to change our situation. Queensland at the moment is not the “Smart State”.

JC IDALIA

On 16/2/20 Aaron Harper stated in this newspaper quote “I am a Jackie (Trad) fan, I’ve got no issues with Jackie at all.” Given Trad was as popular in regional Queensland as Bob Brown’s convoy, I texted my old dog has more political smarts than Aaron. If Mr Harper wants a political adviser for the run into the election, my dog is available, but she does not come cheap.

PEDRO CRANBROOK

Bob Katter has spent so much time in the last six years jumping up and down and arguing with the State Government, the latest issue being the corona free North still in lockdown. Your party Mr Katter was the party that put this government into power so suck it up sunshine. THOMAS WEST END 4810.

Rules is rules, or should be, even in the NRL, I would hope. There are a number of places that you can’t attend without having the flu jab. Why should footy players be exempt? The NRL promised all players would have the jab, now they’re reneging. People who play football are not gods, but should set an example for those who treat them as such. AGS HERMIT PK

There are so many jobs that require employees to be vacinated in order to work. Everyone does it without question because it’s a condition of work and it’s the right thing to do. These NRL idiots need to get it through their thick heads that they are not bigger than the game itself. It’s simple – vacinate or don’t play. Let someone who wants to do the right thing take their place and play.

PHANTOM 4817.

Bazza Mt Low – coal power is may be 40% of world energy supply now but that doesn’t mean it always will be. With global coal power production falling 3% last year and >10% this year, the future isn’t bright for this expensive energy source.

STEVE, BELGIAN GARDENS

Well fellow Bully readers a positive from COVID19. Have you noticed that that the meat from the supermarkets is tender, juicer, tastier and better? Myself and many more have. Are we finally receiving quality export steaks instead of the usual tough bugger?

M J REYNOLDS MT LOUISA

Does anyone else remember the Mayor promising that water would be flowing out of the Haughton Pipeline before the recent election? Only now has she called tenders for the last bit of pipe. Maybe it was a “non-core promise” just to get elected.

MAX CRANBROOK

I think all the NRL games should be suspended till next season. It could cause all sorts of problems. After all the world isn’t going to end because they aren’t playing!

TERRI 4821.

Sam, 4850. I have always opposed secession also but there comes a time when we have to draw the line, no pun intended. This arrogant Palaszczuk administration has declared it’s not on but we have no representation in our three state seats as things stand because as politicians they are empty uniforms. It shouldn’t have to come to this when all we want are MLAS to deal with local issues instead of sucking up to their masters and the Greens.

WW. C/JONG.

Doc Condon, all the countries of the world were warned by WHO at the same time. Australia acted swiftly and decisively and is now doing well. The US stuffed about and now has unprecedented carnage on their hands. Not a conspiracy, just the facts.

JACK ADALE

GJ Hyde Park. (TB 5/5) gives thanks to unions. Where were your unions when Gough Whitlam’s government signed the Lima Agreement in 1975 taking jobs away from our workers and sending them to Third World countries? Unions betrayed our workers and bowed to the UN instead. LEJ 4814

I’m not a expert, maybe the shutting of pubs and clubs had to happen. Lifting of restrictions to allow them to reopen with certain guidelines will be gradual for some time yet. No such luxury with the shutting down. Monday 23rd March at midday after only being told on Sunday afternoon. All over Rover with no chance of gently telling staff they were unemployed or trying to wind their stock down considering at that time the virus wasn’t rife throughout the country.

RON KELSO.

Couldn’t agree more, Barra tvl. What with all the texters sooking about having to stay home from the pub for a few weeks, God help us if we ever had a war and had to endure curfews, rations and turning off all lights at night, as our grandparents did. And to think they call other people snowflakes! THE CREDIBLE HULK MT LOUISA

Listening to AM on ABC radio reporting on overseas figures of COVID-19 and sadly, the enormous amount that have passed away. This song that has the line.... “lucky to be, lucky to be, lucky to be an Australian” comes to mind. KERRY, GRATEFUL AUSTRALIAN, WEST END.

The left wing gravy train wreck is coming to an end. Trad takes the easy way out but will pay in the end. Get Australia back to real working values and end the sit down payments to the army of bludgers that has manifested itself under leftist ideology of recent years.

DOC CONDON

China is threatening to impose an 80 per cent tariff on Australian barley exports. Whatever happened to ‘free trade’? If that happens, impose equal tariffs on certain Chinese goods imported into Australia.

TM. CURRAJONG

Pauline Hanson is right, if you don’t own land, you shouldn’t have water rights to buy and sell on the market. Water belongs to this nation, not foreign interests making a lot of money from it. As a nation we need to keep these (caretakers) of Australian assets that are owned by the people, not these look after themselves politicians supposedly looking after our interests , but who can you trust, (fake news).

CRIS WULGURU

Can somebody enlighten me on when TAB agencies will open. BILL C’BROOK.

W ..kers must have steel cap boots, hi Vis and hard hats. W..kers won’t get a flu shot to keep their job. Work place rules. Insert or and an as appropriate. GX2

Read the other day shopping centres have increased cleaning and sanitation one in Townsville hasn’t Castletown has dropped cleaners from 5 daily to 2 won’t be going there.

Labor have no plan to kick start our economy – get us back to work now! We are being strangled by Labor.

MARK AYR

During times of crisis when voting is on the agenda most people will go with the comfortable bet and no doubts COVID delivered J Hill back into the top job, still not sure if that’s a good or bad thing but will say the town is looking very untidy. One can only hope that COVID is done and dusted by the time state elections come due. There is no doubt our current state leaders learnt nothing from the federal election and are choosing to ignore NQ & FNQ nation building opportunities. Let the region get on creating wealth with Copperstring and dams. Keep the regions closed and let us get back to business as normal, open our schools, restaurants, pubs and clubs, we could be leading Australia away from recession and removing reliance on taxpayers’ hard earned early, Crikey show some sort of leadership, something that’s been missing while

Paddleduck and Trad have been in power. POIDA KIRWAN.

JJ KIRWAN My partner is sitting at the table with me this morning 7:00 am and doing online contacts with parents and will leave for work in 30 minutes, and then return this afternoon at 4:30. Oh by the way teachers are paid for 5 contact hours a day. I’m sure there will be more time put in over the weekend too. APPRECIATIVE PARTNER, KELSO

JJ, most teachers I know are teaching the essential workers’ kids as per normal, then starting on the online teaching after 3pm and continuing on until bedtime, with a dinner break if they’re lucky, so yes, they are doing double shift. If there’s one good thing to come out of this pandemic, it’s that parents struggling with home schooling might finally appreciate the hard work of teachers. I for one take my hat off to them.
