Crime out of hand

-

I REFER to an electronic news segment where it was a reported on 12/5 that a group of youths at a Brisbane railway station had assaulted another group apparently trying to steal their mobile telephones and during the melee one of the youths was stabbed and is in hospital.

The offenders, three males and one female aged 15, were apprehended nearby and will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act as reported.

When is this inept Palaszczuk Government going to wake up to themselves and acknowledge that when it comes to youth crime, the policies to combat crime and criminal behaviour they have put in place have been an abject failure.

This sort of behaviour, thuggery, hold-ups, car hijacking, theft of property, criminal damage, house break-ins and lawlessness in general, belongs in Third World countries not Australia.

The individuals who commit these crimes fear nothing as there is nothing to fear.

Until these criminals are introduced to harsh penalties, crime will just continue spiralling out of control.

Surely someone in the Government has some level of intelligence to see that the Youth Justice Act is just not working and the community have had enough of the lawlessness throughout the state.

Bleeding hearts and do-gooders making excuses for the individuals relating to their upbringing has now run its course – we are not talking about babies but youths, teenagers.

If these criminals have a problem with respecting other people and other people’s property there are ways of changing that attitude, which to some may be harsh but we have a disease and sometimes the cure can be as unpalatable as the disease itself.

This blight on society cannot continue, society has had enough and if ministers hope it will go away I can assure them it will not.

It’s as if academics are conducting some form of experiment with these lawless individuals.

Instead of meeting the challenge head on and fixing the problem we slap wrists, pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to run bail houses, which are used as a stopping off point for couch surfing.

In the front door and out the back, some deterrent.

Wars have been fought, won and lost so that people can have a better life and we have a totally useless government allowing anarchy to prevail.

This Palaszczuk-led government is an absolute disgrace, what they have allowed to happen with regards to crime is in my opinion tantamount to being criminal and they should all hang their heads in shame.
