Townsville port chief leading light in economic recovery push
EACH Saturday the Townsville Bulletin will highlight some of the region’s leading lights who are giving up their time to be a part of Taskforce NQ.
Taskforce NQ has been put together to help formulate a plan to accelerate the health, social and economic recovery of Townsville and the greater North Queensland region out of the coronavirus pandemic.
This week the spotlight is on Infrastructure and Transport lead Ranee
Crosby the CEO
Townsville.
Ms Crosby has more than 20 years’ experience in the port and shipping industry and began her career at the Port of Townsville in 1998.
She possesses a unique combination of comprehensive industry knowledge and an intimate understanding of the operations of the Port of Townsville.
Born and raised in North Queensof the
Port of land, Ms Crosby is passionate about the region’s opportunities for economic growth and sustainability into the future.
As CEO, Ms Crosby has overall responsibility for the strategic leadership and management and operation of the ports of Townsville and Lucinda.
Prior to her appointment to the position of CEO, Ms Crosby held several positions at the Port of Townsville including general manager commercial, manager corporate governance and company secretary.
Ms Crosby holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from James Cook University, is chair of the Townsville Committee of Australian Institute of Company Directors, chair of the Transport, Resources and Agriculture and Manufacturing Sector Group, and governor in council at James Cook University.
