Council offers a discount for owner/occupied homes. If your postal address is different from your home address council needs to know that you are actually living in your home and not renting it out and it is only a one page form.

JAMES, CRANBROOK

Does not matter what the cause may be, Black Lives Matter, refugees in detention, or any other cause, protesters gathering in the thousands are irresponsible and selfish compromising Australia’s fight against coronavirus. Sadly I expect nothing less from the Left “I’m angry” chip on the shoulder activists.

PEDRO, CRANBROOK

I still want one of our three local State members to tell us what they are going to do with the juveniles refused bail considering they can’t keep them in the police watch houses and the detection centres are bursting at the seams!

RON KELSO.

The Premier meets some strangers at a hospital and they advise her not to open the Queensland border. It explains a lot about how decisions are made by her government and asks serious questions about her judgment.

RBH, NORTH WARD FRUSTRATING MUNDINGBURRA, Heartily sick of people like you, demonising public housing. You tend to see a problem where none exists. I’ll rephrase that. A lot depends in what area the public housing units are. Mine are in West End, which is in a very peaceful zone. I have been a tenant here for the past 18 years, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s great, no noise, only some industrial noise occasionally. You can’t tar all public housing with the same brush, it’s wrong. You must give the financially disadvantaged somewhere to live. Nobody should have to sleep rough on the streets, especially not on these cold nights. Some people would say, “Not in my backyard.” To them I say, show some compassion.

D. BILTON, W/END

Yes Lloyd, the council elections are done and dusted and the results are filtering through, your’s and others rude letters re: occupancy are but an example. Bob Hawke once said “never underestimate the stupidity of the Australian electorate”. Let’s hope we are not stupid in October, the blind-mice and Puddles have to go, the Labor/greens partnership is a cancer.

PJ CITY

Chris, Wulguru, I and many others agree with your view on LNP and wish them victory in the upcoming election. In your post (Mon 22/6) you stated that if the power hungry LNP stop squabbling they will still be in opposition? How about they don’t stop squabbling and get on with it and no longer be in opposition.

L W SARGENT, AITKENVALE.

Increasing superannuation from 9.5% to 10% for small businesses (the backbone of the economy) whilst they are barely treading water in the middle of the greatest fiscal disaster since World War II will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. What are they thinking?

KERRY, WEST END.

I was told some time ago that Indigenous park dwellers were there by choice. Housing was available to them, but they refused to use it, preferring the “outdoor life”, and no one could force them into housing. Maybe I was mis-informed?

AGS, HERMIT PK

New Zealand Warriors in line for a new coach, Paul Green would be ideal.

TREVOR. PIMLICO.

A stolen car comes tearing up the road weaving in and out of traffic out the front of Weir State School at 10 to 8 this morning (Monday) there are school children on their bikes on the side of the road as this car weaves off and on the road. I honestly don’t care if these crims crash and kill themselves, but they’re endangering the lives of innocent people, and in this particular case, children as well. Where were the police? And don’t give me this B.S. about can’t be everywhere at once or you cannot follow from safe distance.

BD, 4812

S, Rasmussen. COVID-19 clusters have been successfully contained for months now and as a nation, we can’t go on living in cocoons. This has become the political version of “Scorched Earth”, and when your beloved Annastacia leaves an economic desolate Queensland for the next state goverment, you will want to blame Sco-mo.

CARL. PIMLICO.

Kylie Lang. It’s too late as the last generation of kiddy crims has already become the parents of the current crew. We need to act before we lose yet another generation.

ALEX, AVALE

Frustrated Mundingburra – with a recently reported national shortfall of 438,000 dwellings, coupled with a need for stimulus projects to build our way out of recession, now is exactly the time to invest in public housing.

STEVE, BELGIAN GARDENS

Greens leader Adam Bandt says the new senator for Victoria Lidia Thorpe is exactly what sort of politician Australian people need. Yeah right Mr Bandt, another Sarah Hanson-young. No thank you. I would prefer a hole in the head.

RON, KELSO.

Today, for the first time, I felt threatened and feared for my safety. No, I wasn’t in a war zone, just a trip to Stockland at Aitkenvale. Definitely won’t be returning anytime soon, if ever.

KERRY, 4818

Chris, Wulguru. If it was the LNP candidates (MLAS) squabbling over the leadership, Deb Frecklington would have been history now. The whiteants dwell in the unelected executive ranks and the king ant David Hutchinson, has now resigned as a consultant for Clive Palmer, but should also resign as Queensland LNP president. Seven years ago the ALP executive overturned the members’ choice and appointed Shorten as leader. The result: they’re still in opposition.

WW. C/JONG.

So the State Government only allows 2000 into the stadium to watch footy but allowed tens of thousands to rally in Brisbane City, breaking distancing laws.

BELLY RASMUSSEN, 4815

If I wanted to hear what Jacqui Lambie the senator for Tasmania has to say I would move to Tasmania! We want to hear from our boy, our voice, the only MP who fights for us. MP Phil Thompson, you’re doing a great job.

JR, 4810

Oh my god I just cannot believe it the Victorian Labor Party is full of thugs and low lives at the very top. I’m absolutely speechless. So once again you mindless Labor voting redshirts have had the red shirt pulled over your eyes. For god’s sake wake up, that is the Labor way of running government. Is that what we want in Queensland? Somehow we survived Beatty, Bligh, Puddle duck. No more. Please save our state at the next election because what’s happening in Victoria is most certainly happening here.

TONY TSV

The biggiest problem the LNP have with Deb Frecklington is that she’s a woman. The concept of a female leader doesn’t sit well with their misogynist majority.

KYLIE, CITY

Where is our unbiased ABC when as they would say ”The Public have a right to know “, please inform the public about the Queensland Labor Party’s latest gerrymander.

MICK ANNING NORTH WARD

Troy Clive has a really good point. It is time for the Labor party to come clean on their deals to sell off the 1300 stadium site.

DALE, 4817

Sorry Freckles, lives are more important than businesses.

JOE, BLAKE

Why does NQ and FNQ still have COVID-19 restrictions in place when no covid cases for like forever? Asking for a mate.

POIDA, KIRWAN

Re car industry demise. It was quite clear the Federal Government did not want local manufacturing when prime ministers Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison chose to use BMWS instead of the then available Holden Caprice. When the last car left the local factory, a sizeable import duty was placed on new vehicles as they are now imported.

TM. CURRAJONG

Good to see Troy Clive bring the real ownership of 1300 smiles to light. The Kern Corporation gave and Labor took away. Harness would be stronger than the south east if it was given TAB status at the time. What are the plans now Mr Harper? Low cost accommodation.

DAVE, KIRWAN

I’m looking at a half page ad on page 13 of Saturday Bulletin and wondering if Bob Katter has recently taken over a costume shop.

BARRY SMAIL, STUART 4814

?? ?? Highway Appeal, TB 22/6 good story on the dangerous roadway turnoffs south of the city, bringing attention to this road well overdue. You would think that the three sitting Labor members would back Dale Last’s call to get real pressure put on the TMR to do something now, but you would be dreaming for these three to do anything for anyone north of the Brisbane line. Hopefully with changes at the next election things may change TR4818
