5 NORTH QLD HOLIDAY DEALS TO SNAP UP

-

ISLAND escapes, discounted reef trips and luxury stays await people looking to holiday in North Queensland.

Townsville has been free of COVID-19 cases for months now, making it the perfect place to escape.

With the city’s tourism sector battered by the virus pandemic, Townsville Enterprise and Townsville MP Scott Stewart urged people to holiday in North Queensland.

“It’s time for Queenslanders to see what all the fuss is about and why people travel from the other side of the world to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, learn about our World Heritage-listed rainforests, cuddle koalas, or have a genuine outback Australia experience,” TEL tourism and events director Lisa Woolfe said.

“We’ve been working closely with industry to develop deals to get Queenslanders experiencing the very best of their backyard again. We’ve also developed a comprehensive list of tourism and hospitality businesses that are open for business and good to go with their COVID safe plans in place.”

Townsville MP Scott Stewart said there were good deals for families, couples or adventurous individuals to snap up around Townsville, Hinchinbrook region, Charters Towers and the Burdekin.

“Tourism is vital to our local economy. It’s so important that we support our tourism operators to get back on their feet as soon as possible,” he said.

“We often take for granted that we live in one of the most beautiful places in the world.”
