Couple to contest charges over dogs

-

TWO owners whose dogs were caught wandering in Fredericksfield, near Home Hill, have faced court this week.

Kylie and Thomas Sibson were charged with failing to ensure their animal was not wandering at large.

Their matter was mentioned in Ayr Magistrates Court where the defence solicitor for the pair, Brendan Marr, indicated his clients would be contesting the charges.

According to documents obtained by the Townsville Bulletin, their two male dogs Bullet and Theo were wandering “at large” in the vicinity of Daniel Rd, Fredericksfield, on March 30 last year.

Bullet and Theo are described as cattle dog crosses and were registered and microchipped at the time.

Kylie and Thomas Sibson were also issued a compliance notice in relation to a previous failure in December 2018, requesting the two dogs be kept within their property.

The matter has been adjourned for further mention on August 17 in Ayr Magistrates Court.
