You nailed it John Hathaway the people of Townsville have sorely been let down by Labor. We can’t take 4 more years of this mismanagement. LF JENSEN

Why is zero alcohol beer and wine the same price as those with alcohol, I believe it should be the same price as soft drink as there is no government tax. RALPH WEST END.

Dear next government, please change the Youth Justice Act of 1992 and the Penalties and Sentencing Act. If you want change all you pollies., make some changes that will make a difference. You did it for the boot camps so it can be done. Your constituents are waiting. COTY YABULU.

After reading about Jobkeeper and Jobseeker rorts, it seems that many Aussies have earned the title “bludger”. For “workers” to ask to be fired as they can get more on Jobkeeper is disgusting, as are people deliberately not turning up for work and still getting government (our) handouts. And fruit may rot as young Aussies don’t like that sort of work! How long will we be the “lucky country” with these attitudes?

Re Jenny, Bushland Beach, 24/7. Suggest you read the Prof Ridd judge’s verdict. The case was about the JCU code of conduct over-riding the freedom to present scientific facts. It wasn’t about denying science or climate change or “believer” judges or silencing deniers. Quite the opposite. Also read Climate Change the Facts 2017 and then judge for yourself.

BOB, GULLIVER.

Regarding Professor Ridd, his sacking and the recent court case. I, as an alma mater of JCU, am deeply embarrassed and pretty pi--ed off at how an institution of higher learning, supposedly devoted to the scientific method, open-minded thinking and exchange free exchange of ideas is such a slave to the climate change disaster merchants that they censure free speech and sack a distinguished professor for simply daring to put forward an alternate opinion. Not for being wrong, mind you, but simply standing up and putting out there his concerns over their shoddy “scientific “method”. Shame on you.

ROBERT, PIMLICO

Is there some motorcar racing club in town that races on Woolcock Street between Duckworth and Mather streets every Saturday nite? Could be good revenue for the boys in blue. BOOF 4814

So our State Labor MPS attack Phil Thompson on the pipeline funding. A meeting is organised to work through it, Labor MPS decide not to attend. Pretty obvious which side is playing petty politics here. ANGRYMICK4814 Re: road rules, can someone out there please let me know when the speed limit on the ring road has been changed from 80 to 100 + and 100 + because the speed indicators are still reading 80 and 100 in their respective zones. I have had the indicator in my car checked and it is functioning ok. Do big 4 wheel drive cars have different road rule manuals to the rest? last question, when changing (ring road) lanes some driver’s think just because a blinker is on they can just force their way in. CONFUSED WILLIAM KIRWAN.

There’s no risk to young people from the covid geriatric flu. Nannystasia Palaszczuk is risking rebellion if she tries lock down on us again. Lock down your boomers and leave us out of it.

JENNY, BUSHLAND BEACH JENNY BUSHLAND BCH Why not emigrate to mainland China? They already follow the doctrine you espouse. STU CH TOWERS

Is the commo loving, freedom of speech hating Comrade Jenny of Beijing Beach fair dinkum or just having a giggle and a laugh at our expense; quote “nobody should have freedom of speech” and the hilariously stupid “China brings so much wisdom to our campus JCU.” Surely ASIO has started a file on this dangerous subversive.
