TELEVISION STOLEN

Owners of a Boundary St residence reported a break-in at their home to police on Sunday. The residents returned from holiday to find the property had been entered and a television stolen.

ASSAULT CHARGE

A 28-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with common assault and wilful damage following an incident on Sunday. Police allege the Charters Towers woman went to an associate’s house and became involved in an argument. During the argument, it is alleged the woman threw a water bottle, which hit the victim, before she smashed louvre windows as she left. She will appear in court on September 7.

DRINK-DRIVER

A WOMAN will appear in court on September 7 after she was charged with drink-driving. It is alleged the 23-yearold was on Old Dalrymple Road on August 5 when she was stopped by police for a random breath test. It will be alleged she recorded a blood alcohol concentrat­ion of .077 per cent.

DRUG-DRIVER

A CHARTERS Towers man has been given a notice to appear in court in October on a charge of driving while under the influence of a drug. The 28year-old man was intercepte­d by police on Monday. It will be alleged the roadside drug test was positive.

CAR BURNT OUT

INVESTIGAT­IONS are continuing into the cause of a car fire on Saturday. Emergency services were called at 5.41am after reports of a vehicle on fire, 165km south of Charters Towers on the Gregory Developmen­tal Road. Police found a Holden Commodore ute burnt out at the scene. Police said accelerant leading away from the driver’s side door was seen.

STEALING CHARGES

A CHARTERS Towers woman, 59, has been charged under health regulation­s. The woman was charged on August 5 with unlawful possession of a controlled drug and self-administer­ing a controlled drug by authorised persons prohibited. She was also charged with stealing as a clerk or servant.
