Townsville Bulletin

Enough words, just fix it

-

MAYOR Jenny Hill, where are you regarding crime in Townsville (Crimsville)? As the mayor a major part of your very well paid salary should be a big concern for the safety and security of both us locals and visitors but we never hear a word from you regarding crime. We know that you are not the police but you should have a lot of pull as the mayor.

As mayor if you really love this town you should be screaming your lungs out from the rooftops at this inept, useless Queensland Labor Government and so should every judge, magistrate, police officer, and citizen living in Townsville.

Having gangs of armed kids roaming our streets, stealing cars, and doing just about anything they want and virtually getting away with very little punishment is not acceptable to law-abiding people, but obviously is quite OK with this mob of a government that we have at present.

Most of us cannot believe it possible that this crime just continues to go on, and on and on. Honestly these criminals no matter who they are, what they are, or how old they are , they make our government and courts look like utter fools and so unprofessional - you can also add lazy and incompetent.

With the election just around the corner we can expect more promises to come from this awful mob regarding crime, but take it with a grain of salt, also the same from all the Opposition that will promise us the world but it would be impossible for whoever becomes our next leader and government to be worse than this current bunch.

Five years of punishment by thieves, criminals, car thieves, robberies, burglaries etc is far too much to take and continue under this mob or any other party.

All promises and policies regarding crime at the next election must be set in concrete and cannot be changed to appease the minority – also of course to secure votes.

Most important, the incoming government must make it law that all victims of crime are compensated for any loss or damage.

It is the responsibility of the government to prevent crime and make us all safe and secure, which this current bunch just don’t understand or comprehend.

Good luck to the incoming government and please don’t keep saying something has to be done about crime just do it. Don’t be weak or give up – fix it.

MICK WARREN, Townsville.
