KIDS SPLASH COLOUR AROUND

- GINA MOSCH

STUDENTS at Good Shepherd Catholic School in Rasmussen are ready to tackle the last term of an unusual school year with a colourfilled Rainbow Run helping to brighten their outlook.

It wasn’t a race and there were no winners, the event was simply about getting some colour on and encouraging students to embrace life and have fun.

Good Shepherd principal Glenda Scrase said the special celebration was a great opportunity to reward students for a year well done after COVID-19 disrupted their studies.

“At the beginning of this year we implemented a positive behaviour program,” she said.

“We call it the GSCS Way, where we encourage the students to give their best, show respect, be compassionate and caring, and safe, responsible and fair. In a year where there have been many disruptions, our students have not only shown such resilience in the changes to learning, but they have striven to follow the GSCS Way and we couldn’t be prouder of them.”

Parents and carers were able to come and cheer on students as they donned white shirts and threw colourful powder at each other.

“Our adopt-a-cop Peter Alexander and NQ Cowboys superstar Matty Bowen attended and they were also joined by our very own school mascot Sherlock the Sheep,” Ms Scrase said.
