Bubbles And Brie to get run for money

- LEE PEARCE

A TIGHT tussle will feature in Townsville greyhound racing on Tuesday night, with heat one of the Metroll 4/5th Grade likely to be a three-way battle.

Bubbles And Brie (3), for Merv Parker, is a model of consistency over the distance, and having drawn well with a best time of 28.91 seconds will be an each-way chance.

However, she will be tested by Brad Belford’s Cult Hero (4) and Robert Lound’s Premier Return (7).

Cult Hero was back in the winner’s circle on Friday night over 380m but will need to jump well to hold on to his place chance status.

Premier Return will be eager to cast aside recent near misses, w with two seconds from her last two starts.

On her night she can start strongly, and is typically a brilliant finisher.

Belford’s Major Gibson (2, pictured) will be an outright favourite in heat two (race eight) of the G.B.D. Concrete Services 4/5th Grade over 498m.

This young dog is absolutely flying with five straight wins over the distance, and has drawn well to claim the victory yet again. It would be his eighth straight win across all lengths.

But Rhonda Essery’s Stratford (1) will present stiff competition for the favourite.

The up-and-coming youngster is fresh off two wins and a second over the distance, with a best time of 29.17 seconds.

Go Molly Go (8), for Scott Atkinson, will also feature as a place chance. Despite drawing wide, she only needs to jump and get a clean run over to the rails to continue a streak of three wins over the distance.

Two heats of the Maiden 100 over 380m will also feature, with the first race at 6.42pm.
