DEBATE LAST CHANCE TO SEE LEADERS EXPLAIN PLAN

-

IT was another busy day for politicians on the Queensland election campaign in Townsville yesterday. Both major parties, and the Katters, were back on the hustings rolling out the promises for North Queensland.

North Queenslanders are used to attention during state campaigns but this year must be some sort of record for both politician attendance and promises.

It’s no wonder, Townsville has three marginal seats that could deliver government to either side.

They could also be the seats that hold the balance of power in a minority government.

For those of you who are still undecided the our sister publication the and Sky News, will host Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and the woman trying to unseat her, Deb Frecklington, in a People’s Forum today.

The pair will take questions from undecided voters during the one-hour forum, hosted by Sky News Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert.

Election campaigns are usually a series of stage-managed picture opportunities where the ‘real people’ have been vetted by party advancers.

Today’s event will be the first time the leaders won’t have had the chance to see who’s coming and so the People’s Forum will be the most authentic event of the campaign, with real undecided voters having the chance to ask their own questions of the two women vying to lead the state.

Readers can today, from 3pm, join political reporter Tom Connell for pre-forum analysis as he anchors Afternoon Agenda with Mr Gilbert live from the forum venue.

Ms Palaszczuk and Ms Frecklington will face the group of undecided voters live for questioning from 4pm.

Today’s debate, on townsvillebulletin.com.au, is the last chance for undecided voters to get a heads up on the position of the leaders before this weekend’s election.

The Townsville Bulletin would also like to hear the thoughts of North Queenslanders.
