OUTSIDE THE BUBBLE: ON THE ROAD WITH ALEXANDRA PELOSI
Fox Showcase 112, 9.10pm
In this one-hour documentary, director Alexandra Pelosi (pictured, the daughter of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) takes a road trip across the US to interview ordinary people on the polarising subjects of gun rights, immigration, climate change, abortion, race relations and more. On her journey Pelosi meets women who voted for President Donald Trump and hears their thoughts about abortion rights and the #Metoo movement; speaks with blue-collar workers who feel ignored and disrespected by the coastal elites; and she’ll visit the border wall in San Diego, California, to discuss immigration with activists and agents on the frontline. No matter which way you lean politically, Outside the Bubble turns out to be confronting to say the least.
COLD CASE JFK
History 130, 5.30pm
On November 22, 1963, John Fitzgerald Kennedy (pictured) was assassinated in a presidential motorcade in Dallas, Texas. But while a murder in broad daylight might seem like an investigator’s best-case scenario, the investigation was in fact a forensic nightmare, plagued by a controversial autopsy and, incredibly, a prime suspect who was murdered on live television. This one-hour special re-examines the physical evidence from the day, using state-of-the-art forensics, including laser scanning and new ballistics tests, to see if science can reveal anything new about one of the most defining murders of the 20 century. Conspiracy theories surrounding his death will also be investigated to see if they hold water.
