NOVEMBER 16 CARLO CAMPIONI
Composer born Charles Campion in France in 1720, his family was transferred to Florence in 1737 where he came under the influence of Italian composers, and later rose to become music director to the Grand Duke of Florence. He died in 1788.
NOVEMBER 17 AUGUST MOBIUS
German mathematician and astronomer born in 1790. He is best known for his discovery of the Mobius Strip, a twisted loop shape that has only one surface, but he also wrote papers on stars. He died in 1868.
NOVEMBER 18 ROBERT FRYER
American theatre and film producer born in 1920. Among his notable productions were the stage shows Chicago and Sweeney Todd and the films The Boys From Brazil and
The Shining. He died in 2000.
NOVEMBER 19 BERTEL THORVALDSON
Danish sculptor born in 1770. He studied in Italy where he was influenced by neoclassicism. Among his most famous sculptures is the Lion of Lucerne. He died in Denmark in 1844.

Roman emperor born in 270. The nephew of Galerius, who became Emperor in the East in 305, he claimed the throne when
Galerius died in 310. He shared his reign with Licinius and Constantine, but was ousted by Licinius in 313. He died that year of either despair or poison.

JUSTIN LANGER
Australian cricketer born in 1970. A left-handed batsman he made his Test debut in 1993 against the West Indies, achieving a top score of 250 in 2002 and retiring in 2007. He became coach of the Australian team in 2018.
NOVEMBER 22 CHARLES DE GAULLE
French general and politician born in 1890. He served in the army in WWI and WWII, leading the Free French Forces in exile after France was occupied. He served as French president from 1959 to 1969 and died in 1970.
