CAMPAIGN SHINES LIGHT ON NORTH

A NEW tourism campaign has been launched to sell Townsville to the nation post COVID-19.

Townsville Enterprise (TEL) launched the ‘Find Your Shine’ campaign with 20 tailored packages to put the spotlight on a host of new tourism and accommodat­ion deals these summer holidays.

TEL marketing director Lisa Woolfe said the summer months were traditiona­lly a quieter period which was why the new strategy was done in close partnershi­p with local operators.

“With internatio­nal travel off the table there has never been a better time to get out and explore Townsville

North Queensland, or even rediscover the region and create new memories with family and friends,” Ms Wolfe said.

“Experienci­ng our region will not only provide the opportunit­y to connect with loved ones, but support an industry that needs it now more than ever.”

All-inclusive packages range from family getaways cuddling koalas and snorkellin­g with marine life, diving the Museum of Underwater Art, exploring and learning all about a

World Heritage-listed rainforest, wetting a line on the ultimate fishing experience at the Great Barrier Reef, or wooing that special someone with a fully catered secluded beach picnic or a sunset sail.

All packages can be booked at the new townsville­northqueen­sland. com.au destinatio­n website which has undergone a complete makeover, including an interactiv­e trip planner to build customised itinerarie­s.

The ‘Find Your Shine’ campaign will run for four weeks until December 18, with travel dates from December 7 to February 28.

Ms Woolfe said the aim of the campaign was to help reignite some joy for families after an exceptiona­lly difficult 2020.
