BURNING OJAI: OUR FIRE STORY
Fox Showcase 112, 7.30pm
On December 4, 2017, the Santa Ana winds whipped through Ventura County in California and the Thomas Fire broke out, ultimately causing widespread devastation. By the time it was extinguished, the disaster had ravaged more than 282,000 acres of land, destroyed countless homes and businesses, and displaced thousands of local residents. This 40-minute documentary directed by local resident and filmmaker Michael Milano interweaves raw footage of the largest wildfire in the state’s history with interviews from people who were impacted by the lifechanging event. Expect the end result to be incredibly moving, often in unexpected ways, as those affected try to come to terms with what happened.
