Drivers to face drink-drive charges
THREE drivers will front court in the lead up to Christmas on separate drink-driving charges.
Police charged a Townsville woman with drink-driving after she was stopped in a blue Ford Ranger on the Flinders Highway on Sunday at 3pm.
Police had received multiple complaints that alleged a vehicle travelling on the highway between Townsville and Charters Towers was swerving over the road and crossing the centre line.
The vehicle was also towing a U-haul trailer.
Police will allege the 51year-old woman was driving with a blood alcohol concentration of .177 per cent.
P o l i c e said the woman’s licence was suspended i m m e d i - ately and the vehicle immobilised for s e v e n days.
She will appear in court on December 14.
A woman has allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading nearly two times the legal alcohol limit in the early hours of Saturday.
The 30-year-old was allegedly driving a Ford Ranger in York Street when she was stopped at 2.25am for a roadside breath test.
It is alleged she recorded a blood alcohol concentration of .090 per cent.
The woman is scheduled to appear in the Charters Towers Magistrates Court on December 14 charged with drink-driving.
A Charters Towers man, who was stopped for a random breath test just after midnight on Tuesday, has been charged with driving over the alcohol limit.
It is alleged the 41-year-old man was driving a white Toyota Landcruiser in Lister Street when he had a blood alcohol concentration of .058 per cent. The man is scheduled to appear in the Charters Towers Magistrates Court on December 14.
