Students learn through hands-on, real-world experience that connects them to their local community.

Classes are fluid, allowing students to learn in a multi-age environment which benefits them both academically and socially.

The children love learning outdoors and all students take part in regular “Forest School” sessions allowing them to learn about their environment and become stewards of the land on which they learn.

Enkindle principal Kiri Pearce said students regularly took advantage of the facilities available on the James Cook University campus.

“They love being able to interact with the students and staff at JCU,” Kiri said.

“And most importantly our days and our learning are filled with joy.

“We laugh, play, get messy, take risks and make mistakes, which creates highly passionate, engaged and happy learners.”
