Video of wild fight emerges

- SHAYLA BULLOCH

A BLOOD-CURDLING scream rings through a Vincent street as a one-on-one fight breaks out into a mass street brawl.

Weapons are drawn and a boy is caught on camera lying on the road in new footage that has emerged of a violent street fight on Sunday night.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck during the ordeal, and another man and woman were also injured.

Footage of the fight has since emerged online and shows how a punch-up between two men blew out into a huge brawl at the intersection of Fulham Rd and Gosper St.

The video begins about 7.30pm with a group of people standing in the street, music blaring in the background as two men shape up.

One is shirtless and the other is wearing a black singlet as they start to throw hands in front of a crowd of about 20 people.

The pair exchange blows and are depicted venturing too far out on to the road when a woman recording yells “get off the road” as cars drive past.

The pair move further towards a nearby house and the shirtless man lands a series of hard punches, which causes the crowd to erupt and yell “smash him”.

As the original pair continue fighting in the front yard of a house, the footage shows two other males shapeup closer to the camera.

In their tussle, they knock into someone standing with a bike, causing it to fall over and the person stagger.

One of the men in the second brawl then sprints away from his fight, and a mass brawl breaks out on the road.

A woman recording can be heard screaming “holy f--k,

these c--ts want a weapon fight”.

The woman runs away from the centre of the brawl, screaming and yelling as people smash glass on the road and lay into each other.

The woman then yells “get away from my sister you dog”, before exclaiming “there’s a machete” in a frightened voice as she continues filming the brawl.

Her breath quickens and the video cuts to a person helping a man lying on the road.

The woman says “you got

a spear gun”, and the video cuts off.

Police rushed to the Vincent home after the fight was called in and found multiple weapons at the scene.

District Duty Officer Senior Sergeant Matt Lyons said at the time of the wild melee that police would not tolerate the behaviour.

“It appears there was some sort of dispute between several houses here in this area, several streets and several persons in those houses,” Sergeant Lyons said.

“It is not the first time we have been called to this residence here (on Sunday night).

“Police left the street about 20 minutes prior to the incident after speaking to several parties from several houses.

“When you add alcohol and friction between families it doesn’t go well and when you add possible weapons including knives and iron bars to the mix it is a recipe for disaster,” Sergeant Lyons said.

Three people were taken to hospital, but were discharged the next day.

No one has been charged, but police are investigating.
