NQ women win awards
TOWNSVILLE’S most successful female entrepreneurs have been recognised on the national business stage.
The women have taken top honours in various categories in the 2021 Ausmumpreneur Awards. The awards were held at an online event where talented mums in business from all over the country gathered to support and encourage other Australian mumpreneurs.
One of the Townsville winners, Taryn Claire Le Nu, who founded the To Cancer with Love and Women Raising Vibration movement, said this year was the first year that Townsville had so many finalists in the national awards.
“With 12 finalists from Townsville, we took out 15 awards,” she said. “This is an incredible achievement for the mums in business in our city. The calibre of the women in Townsville I have got to meet through the awards are the kind of women you’d be proud to also call your friend, as these women are honest, compassionate, committed, smart, valuing connection, collaboration and community.”
Shanna Hunter, of Hunter Taxation Services, who won silver in the regional business category, says it was such a great honour to be recognised. “I am proud to receive this amazing award, which recognises the importance of regional businesses,” Ms Hunter said.
“Since establishing my accounting firm, I have grown my practice to now employ two great full-time staff through word-of-mouth referrals. I am grateful to be part of an outstanding group of women who are making the world a better place.”
Ausmumpreneur network co-founder Katy Garner said the awards showed the passion of women who wanted to fulfil their entrepreneurial dreams as well as be great parents.
“Despite the pandemic the number of women starting businesses has continued to grow in the last 12 months,” Ms Garner said.
“We are thrilled to be the No.1 community for mumpreneurs and proud to showcase the best and the brightest each year through these awards,” she said.
Townsville category winners are: Taryn Claire Le Nu a Gold in the Author/writer category; Jacinta Bancroft a Gold and Mia Dickson a Silver and Anna Walsh a Bronze in the Emerging category; Mia Dickson a Bronze in the Digital Innovation category; Alix Aurisch and Nikki Beetham a Bronze in the Fashion category; Jacinta Bancroft a Silver and Alli Arnold a Bronze in the People’s Choice category; Ashe Coxon a Silver in the B2B Service category; Cassandra Jones a Gold in the Overcoming the Odds category; Mia Dickson a Bronze in the Digital Services category; Anna Walsh a Gold in the Product Design category; Shanna Hunter a Silver in the Regional Business category; Ashe Coxon a Bronze in the Women’s Business School Excellence category; and Cassandra Jones a Silver in the Disabled Business category.
