INVESTING IN FUTURE
ACCOUNTANT Paul Abercrombie has developed his nest egg, establishing commercial premises to lease for investment as well as provide a new home for his business.
The founder of Abercrombie Account Group, acquired vacant land on Ingham Rd, West End, before also buying the premises next door.
Mr Abercrombie completely redeveloped the building into modern commercial offices, which he now leases, and has developed purposebuilt premises on the vacant land.
He said he was doing what he advised his clients to do – invest in commercial property through a self managed superannuation fund.
“We purchased the building with the view that we would eventually redevelop it into modern offices that were designed to allow for growth and to provide exceptional services to our clients,” Mr Abercrombie said.
“Accounting is a fastmoving and ever-changing industry that is increasingly transitioning to the digital space.
“We have been able to cater for this within the design and build.
“Importantly, we also put a big emphasis on creating a warm and welcoming environment that includes modern fixtures, fittings and furniture.
“The result is that we have now have modern offices with plenty of space for growth and extensive on-street parking.”
Townsville builder Phoenix Constructions performed the work, delivering the project on time and on budget with local contractors.
“I am Townsville born and bred, and passionate about playing a role in growing the city, so it was important that we used local contractors and consultants,” Mr Abercrombie said.
“There are a number of commercial projects that are planned, under way or have been completed in the West End city fringe, including the new $55m Weststate Private Hospital that are positioning the area as growth precinct.”
In contrast to vacancies on nearby Flinders Street, properties on Ingham Rd are tightly held and few sites are available for lease.
