It’s a challenge to combat all the conspiracy theories

-

I HAVE a mate who is an anti-vaxxer and a purveyor of conspiracy theories.

That he is so bent I live with, but remain quite bemused that he is so. He is quite educated, talented and smart, as is his wife.

I was taken by a recent number of links/arguments that they sent me. They appeared to come from reputable sources with a some solid grounding.

I checked out the source documents that had been cited.

In reality all three were just a bland manipulation of the basic original facts (I am sure they all are – just these three seemed a little more substantiated).

I set out to detail the intricacy of the falsehoods for this letter. That became far too torturous and much too long an epistle.

Herein is my fundamental dilemma. I don’t really challenge him on his stance.

I don’t credit all the stats and theories he throws at me but I identify that it will be a time consuming and fruitless task to do so. Thereby goes too many of us, I guess.

He continues to send me data and links that support his approach. I continue tolerate his emails and just ignore them as more of the flotsam and jetsam that pervades our lives these days.

DEFENCE POLICY

THE Greens defence policy is wacky and delusional. That’s how it has been labelled. Let’s examine their proposals in more detail:

Why would the Greens want to renegotiate the alliance with the US? Donald Trump remains a very good reason to leave the current military arrangement and he will run again in 2024, Satan willing. Meanwhile, George Bush, Snr and Jnr are very good examples of allegedly sane people who killed millions of innocent people in totally unjustified wars in the Middle East for which they have never been held to account.

And between them, these administrations wasted trillions of dollars for a set of shocking outcomes that have demonstrably made the world a much more dangerous place. And Australia toddled along like little kid trailing after his big brother, defying the hundreds of thousands of citizens who marched against Howard’s decision to go to war in Iraq.

The Greens want to close Pine

Gap because we are a sovereign country. Pine Gap also makes Australia a target for a country at war with the US, whose missiles could reach the heart of this country. China and North Korea already can do that.

The Greens argue we should reduce defence spending. I would argue that successive governments have failed us: we should have been designing, funding and constructing our own defence systems fit for purpose rather than spending hundreds of billions of dollars on outdated and malfunctioning equipment from the US to fit in with their war machine.

Not spying on East Timor; ignoring the torture of West

Papuans; or turning a blind eye to corruption in PNG.

Finally, in a report by Dr Robert Glasser, (2021) the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) warned: “The Indo-pacific region may see the displacement of millions of people due to climate changerelated extreme weather events, heatwaves, droughts, rising seas and floods. We’re already seeing this occur in Bangladesh and small island developing states. We could also see conflict arise as climate change affects global food or water resources. A particular concern is the potential geopolitical tensions between India and China over dwindling Tibetan water resources.”

I was once asked what to do about the boat people, which was essentially a question about defending our borders? I answered: “Address climate change.” And nothing has changed in the intervening years.

CARE FOR ELDERLY

AUNTIE Anna and grandma Jeanette are really talking tough.

The premier said today, that, “My job is to keep you safe” – hear the sound of a whip cracking.

Well, madam Premier, if, as per your quote, that is the case, why then do we in Queensland have the worst elderly ‘care’ in the country? The five royal commissions, into this egregious state of affairs, make your words and pathetic posturing utterly hollow and spectacularly hypocritical. Stop speaking to us like we are eight years old.

CLIMATE CHANGE

THE EU and UK and US need to remember that Australia has fought beside them and the blood of our young men has flowed on their soil twice for their freedom and right to govern themselves and not to be dictated to by any other country, yet here we have these nations intimidating Australia into net zero emissions by threatening our economic stability. With the rise of the new world order, the reset dictated by non-elected cashed up multinational businesses and the money shifters of the world the freedom is not accorded to Australia to govern for the people by the Australian people.

Who is running Australia as it doesn’t seem to be our elected members or the Prime Minister but the rest of the world. Let’s look further than our navels and take note of what pressure Australia is under from the OECD and nations who are major polluters, and yet they want Australia to commit economic suicide by adopting net zero emissions. I watched an interview with the a French politician and lawyer who is the current president of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde who met with Klaus Schwab executive chairman of the World Economic Forum the father of the new world order reset on climate change and if you listen to his speech he is socialist, a believer on the redistribution of wealth, extinction of beef production and dairy farming, and industry. The EU threaten do as we say or we will introduce a carbon border tariffs to destroy the Australian economy, losing Aussie jobs and more that $4bn in GDP.

If the EU want to make a huge difference start with China whose emissions are 28 per cent. The EU could really make a difference with China, instead of Australia, which is one of the lowest.

China currently will not have to reduce or suffer the wrath of the world markets but can cash in on the solar and wind turbine market. Is this sensible or rational thinking by the bullies of the new world order reset? Does the rest of the world subsidise their citizens with solar panels, wind turbines and big business in the market of renewables to the extent Australia does?

Follow the money and you will always see the almighty dollar guides the thinking and will rule the world. Be wise and research the people who are pulling the strings of climate change for the world and you will be better informed.

When Australians accept onesided reporting on climate change, like the articles published in the Bulletin, this was not a debate, but propaganda. Where was the reporting of the two sides of the science for and against? We are meeting our target now other countries need to follow their own demands.
