Three MPS missing as crims rule streets

-

WHAT is happening in Townsville regarding crime can only be described as anarchy.

Recently, the Friday evening news media advised that 30 cars had been stolen the week leading up to Friday, then apparently over that weekend the criminals ran riot again stealing vehicles and causing mayhem.

Following on, people at a Kirwan residence found themselves being involved with criminals with axes intent on breaking in, then apparently two teenage girls made an attempt to hijack a vehicle at a fast-food outlet using a needle as a weapon.

Then we have a middle-aged man drawing money out of a cash machine when he was approached by two youths with a bow and arrow demanding money.

It’s more like the Wild West than Townsville.

And then a man had his wallet stolen in North Ward by five people. (Weapons used in attacks TB 12/1). They may have been like a pack of wild dogs chasing their prey.

The Townsville Bulletin has a headline that stolen cars run riot across Townsville. The article says that a convoy of stolen cars ran riot across Townsville overnight, with numerous homes broken into and a vehicle torched.

Apparently the police were aware of a convoy of at least four or five vehicles driving throughout Townsville until 5am.

The silence from all three inept Palaszczuk representatives so far on this matter is deafening and one has to wonder what we are paying these individuals to do all day and every day. What is it that all three of them and their masters in Brisbane are unable to comprehend that without a meaningful deterrent to deal with this anarchy it will just go on and on and on.

When all is said and done, this is Townsville or Crimsville and not some Third World country, and yet criminals in what is supposed to be a civilised country are ruling our lives.

People are so scared they are having to fortify their properties to try to keep the criminals out and most probably living in fear.

Senior citizens are frightened to go out at night and in the day, and where are the three inept Palaszczuk representatives?

Nowhere. All three have gone to ground as they would appear to have run out of strategies and hairbrained ideas, as in the past.

These criminals fear nothing as there is nothing to fear. I don’t think those flowered shirts had the desired effect did they?

The sooner the three inept Palaszczuk representatives start doing their job by representing the few people who voted for them, then listen to the people of Townsville then act on their recommendations then Townsville may get back to some form of reality.

VIRUS FAILURE SHAMEFULL

THE failure of Australian governments, state and federal, except Western Australia to protect its own citizens from a virus is shameful.

The entire lot should be dismissed by the GovernorGeneral and an election called with none of the current failures allowed to sit again. People have died needlessly because of their incompetence, their inability to act in the nation’s best interests, and their insane bickering in a time of crisis is not how a modern nation should be governed.

No nation needs the likes of Palmer, Hanson, Roberts. No nation needs party loyalists pretending they represent the people; all are loyal obedient servants to party dogma knowing full well this is the path to the corporate world.

This opening up of Queensland when we were doing so well just so business could make their yearly profits over Christmas is destroying our lives. Time for change, fresh faces, fresh ideas and plans for this nation’s future.

FEEDLOTS CRUEL PLACES

WHILE agreeing with Debra Gibson (Letters TB 15-16/1) that, “Animals used for meat consumption can graze land unsuitable for crops”, too many animals are fattened in feedlots.

Recent research from the University of New England has found the high use of antibiotics in cattle feedlots could cause resistance in humans.

The study suggests that farmers overusing antibiotics in feedlots could pose a major risk to human health as cattle feedlots can breed high amounts of antibioticresistant bacteria in their soil, which is then often used to fertilise crops.

The study suggests this resistance could spread to people through breathing, skin exposure and by eating cattle or plants.

The RSPCA has a number of animal welfare concerns about the use of cattle feedlots, including lack of space and access to shade.

Intensive farming practices are causing animals to suffer and putting the health of humans at increased risk.

KAP NOT TO BLAME

Hi Stevo, Rollingstone (Text the Editor) I’m guessing you’ve been hoodwinked by the LNP BS machine.

KAP has never put Labor into power. Here’s my recollection of the 2015 election results: There were 44 Labor, 42 LNP, 2 KAP and 1 independent (Peter Wellington).

Wellington backed Labor when they made him Speaker so it would still have been a Labor government even if KAP had backed the LNP, as the Speaker would have supported Labor on every tied vote. Obviously, Labor won in 2017.

The 2017 election win had nothing to do with KAP, as we don’t preference Labor or LNP, but instead always run a split ticket.

I think LNP losing the 2017 state election had a lot to do with poor leadership from Tim Nicholls and his association with Campbell Newman, which cost LNP seats.

As for 2020, that was a pure LNP train wreck.

For all those panicking about global warming, just one volcano on the very active ring of fire could send us into a two-year winter. It happened in the 1800s and the way the volcanoes are popping corks lately and seismic activity is increasing, you will have worried for nothing. Solar doesn’t work under a dense ash cloud. What are you going to do then to keep warm? DM, CONDON

Many people want to keep blaming ‘the system’ for the Djokovic affair. Don’t blame ‘the system‘, blame the person who tried to rort it. His lawyers must have advised him that his final appeal had little prospect of success, yet he argued it anyway. Three judges to nil. A bit like bowing out in straight sets, something Djokvic is obviously not used to. ANTON, 4810

I call upon the three Labor MPS from this city to gather up some intestinal fortitude and call upon your government to change the youth justice laws to protect the community, not the recidivist snots. You could always garner some support from the three in Cairns and the Mackay member as well. That will total seven. Go on, I dare you. AS, 4814

United Australia Party says don’t preference parties but it did in the last federal election. G.F ANNANDALE, 4814 If David Crisa-full-of-it truly wants to reduce the youth crime rate in the North by having citizens like me kick out the inept Labor talentless trio, he will need to quit the LNP first, because there’s no way we’ll ever let our vote be used to make him the next premier. He’s the reason I and other locals didn’t vote LNP last

election. AZZA, 4812

Couldn’t agree more Scotty. Not only is Jenny Hill’s plate full, it’s tipping over. I would like some transparency around rate increases for 2022 to cover the $79m blowout and would like to know where madam mayor stands with Magnis Energy occupying space at Lansdown given the recent headlines. JR, 4810.

Fred, 4814 is on the money. Intelligent people do not use how to vote cards. Looking at how Labor has treated Townsville over the past view years, it is clear that only people with a mental illness would not put it last on the ballot paper. PETE AT DOUGLAS

Wow it’s a bit dry isn’t it? We have missed a lot of rain so far and the clock is ticking on getting a decent dam-filler before our wet season is over. It’s currently sitting at 48 per cent full. How’s that state government funded Burdekin pipeline coming along? Funds still in place? No more level 3 water restrictions on the cards? Will we keep our parks green or spend a fortune dialling back irrigation again and delivering dead ‘green’ spaces? MJ, CITY

It’s hilarious watching all the antivaxxers threatening to boycott the Australian Open. Considering you must be double jabbed to enter the venue, you’ve got to laugh at the mental gymnastics required to boycott something you can’t attend in the first place. THE CREDIBLE HULK, MT LOUISA
