Crime crackdown. How many times can these young misguided children be allowed to continue, until they are hospitalised. I don’t think that is the answer our three state government members want. CRIS, WULGURU
No frozen fruit and vegetables in the supermarket, then eat locally-grown fresh fruit and vegetables. No meat on the shelves, then change to a plant-based diet. No cans of food on the shelves, then eat freshly-grown local food, and pickle or dehydrate at home. You will be healthier, save money, support the local economy and will lower your environmental impact. Embrace it! HJL, TOWNSVILLE
Mr Stewart the crime epidemic in Townsville is increasing, not being curtailed. If, as you say, Queensland has the strongest youth crime laws then why aren’t they being implemented? This epidemic has gone past being a joke and a laugh for the perpetrators, it’s now very dangerous. Change the laws and make these little darlings cringe and fear them, it’s called a deterrent. No? Then crawl back into your bunker and refrain from making statements that you can’t implement. M. J REYNOLDS, MT LOUISA
Nick Dametto has not thought trough his populist call to ditch the Covid-19 Checkin App. Without the app, nobody will be able to show their green tick to gain entry into a raft of public venues that require visitors to be fully vaccinated. Think again Nick. BARNEY, BELGIAN GARDENS
I was unfortunate to have a medical trauma this week and spend time in TUH. I was in Ed and Medical Ward 1. To witness how busy these people were was overwhelming. I could not fault any of the professional, caring and nothing’s a problem attitude these genuine people have. I applaud you and thank you all. DT, 4810
The local pollies say it’s the same 100 repeat offenders causing havoc around town then they tell us that an extra 100 have been locked up, so according to my limited education that means we have no crime problems in this city. DAVO, HEATLEY
Nick Dametto why run a split ticket when your bias is on display for everyone to see? JR 4810
When challenged about the crime in the city, Scott Stewart parrots the same reply religiously, Qld has the strongest youth crime laws in Australia. I wonder if he could for once forget about the party spiel and give an honest answer. RON, KELSO
Some 96 cars stolen in 21 days in Townsville. Good on the police for putting in a big effort to catch these criminals who are wrecking honest citizens’ lives. It’s a pity the courts fail to punish them by jailing them and keep setting them free to prey on even more honest people. GIGI, ANNANDALE
The Morrison govt has to be commended for making sport stars realise they are no better than anyone else and must obey the same rules as the great unwashed. First Djokovic, now Kelly Slater. Nothing has annoyed the public more than witnessing how the Palaszczuk govt has given preferential treatment to actors and celebrities. The workers’ party deserted representing ordinary folk many moons ago. PEDRO, CRANBROOK
DC, 4817. How terrible that the plebs can vote for the government they prefer instead of being lorded over by wing nut Tory toffs! Here’s a thought: why not develop mainstream policies that appeal to a majority of Queenslanders and then win an election instead of blaming voters for your predicament. STEVE, BELGIAN GARDENS
