A terrific 3YO race to dissect here, The win of Santa Marinella here last start was outstanding, ridden perfect with cover and was far too good for them. Hallside Hammer probably just had to do too much here last start but back to the 1000m, back to a more suitable trip and if he can role in front and dictate he will prove very hard to run down. Boomed going back to 1300m should suit much better. Dutton Branded has won his last two starts and cannot be left out of Quaddie calculations.

Race 4...................

Danger One ($2.40) was great 1st up and with a much better draw today looks very hard to hold out.

Grisham ($4.20) chased gamely 1st up in the same race as Danger One last start, with an extra 200m has a strong claim in this.

Victory For Us ($3.20) looks a real improver and has a good gate with Champion Townsville Jockey Graham Kliese aboard.

Race 6...................

Well Charred ($18) is a horse that has always shown ability, he hasn’t quite lived up to the hype however his run 1st up resuming here was very solid, despite coming back to the shorter trip I think he looks a big hope. Kamarcher ($2.50) has been an absolute heartbreaker this time in, draws a good gate but is an emergency so just needs scratchings to obtain a start, if he runs in this he will be extremely hard to beat. Didn’t Ask Me ($12) is an interesting runner here and another needing scratchings to obtain a start, showed some ability in his first preparation but just didn’t show up last time in.

Race 7................... Townsville

Cracking Class 3 race to finish the day with speed galore engaged here. I really like Family Star ($3.20) coming back to easier racing here, draws a good gate with a gun rider to match, she has speed to burn and will give them something to run down.

Theresabearinthere ($3.80) has come back in super order, his 1st up win was terrific in Cairns and he was brave here last start, they may elect to take a sit and let the speed go here which gives him a chance. Endorse ($5) hasn’t quite lived up to his earlier promise however he is now 3rd up and if he can turn up he’ll be a threat.

Calculus ($67) is a blowout hope.
