Pop star juggles busy schedule with FNQ circus visit

-

POP star Katy Perry is making the most of her downtime in Far North Queensland, heading out to watch a circus in Port Douglas.

The American singer – who has joined actor fiance Orlando Bloom in Queensland while he films new movie Wizards – was spotted in the crowd at the Lennon Bros Circus show at Reynolds Park on Sunday, in what concluded the troupe’s four-day tour to Port Douglas.

Crew members who noticed Perry at the VIP tables approached her after the show and the American Idol judge happily posed for photos with performers and staff.

“A very special guest joined us for our final show here in beautiful Port Douglas. What a beautiful lady Katy Perry is and so very humble,” Lennon Bros Circus shared to Facebook. It is understood Perry booked a VIP table, which costs $150, under her own name.

Organisers were shocked when they browsed the names on the VIP bookings and spotted the star guest.

The relaxed singer wore jeans and a floral bucket hat as she cheered on the performers.

“I give thanks to my beautiful job that is the circus for giving me the opportunity to travel everywhere and introduce me to wonderful people,” performer Chonco Ibarra Rodriguez wrote to Instagram after snapping a selfie with the star.

“This time in Port Douglas Australia the great famous singer Katy Perry watched me work and this time she was the one he applauded me. A wonderful day with wonderful people!”

After flying into Queensland last week, Perry was spotted shopping in Port Douglas while Bloom was photographed at a local gym as he prepares to film Wizards, which also stars Pete Davidson.

Locals have also spotted the star couple visiting Rex Smeal Park and St Mary’s church.

Wizards, produced by Brad Pitt’s company Plan B, is projected to inject an estimated $14.7 million into the state’s economy.
