What makes my school EXCELLENT
My name in Nalini Schofield and I am a Year 8 student at Ingham State High School. Many variables contribute to making my school exceptional. The teachers make sure that everyone feels included, safe and involved in the school community. They encourage hard work, positive mindsets, stable mental health and friendship building. Every single individual in my school including students, educators and staff have helped me to become the best person I can be.
Workshops, tutoring, clubs and extra-curricular activities allow me to extend myself and push my limits.

St Patrick’s College
Townsville is a welcoming and comfortable place to be. Respect, compassion and supportive relationships between students and staff create the perfect learning environment. The other thing that makes the College excellent is the variety of opportunities available for students. Whether it’s sport, music, dance, social justice, academics or STEM, there is a club or competition you can be a part of. The support for these activities is wonderful.
It doesn’t matter if you’re the best in the state or just beginning; you are welcomed with open arms and have the opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills. But as well as all this, what makes our College excellent is our sisterhood. As girls, we lift each other up in both good times and bad. St Patrick’s College Townsville challenges us to dare to imagine what our future will be – it dares us to make the impossible possible.

Our school provides many different opportunities for all students academically, sporting and culturally. I believe my school is a very inclusive school where everyone is treated equally and feels safe. We acknowledge and celebrate people’s differences. The teachers at our school are very good at listening to us, especially if we need help. I have had a great start to schooling as I started Prep here and feel I have been prepared well for high school by Holy Spirit. JOSIVEL

Thuringowa State High School gives me opportunities to understand what jobs there are in STEM and be able to plan out what it is I want to do. The school and its programs allow me to experience real world situations and how to help solve them. I mentor younger students and show them the fun of STEM and educate them. I get to see other students’ ideas and ways of thinking and that helps me improve how I work. KIMBERLEY STEPHENS

School may seem boring to most students, but at Kirwan
State Primary, attending school is great!
Here, there are countless opportunities to better yourself.
We get to participate in
Interschool Sport every
Thursday.
There are also musical programs where you can learn to sing, perform and play a variety of musical instruments.
There are specialist technology lessons that teach coding and robotics.
Outside of school we have programs such as
STEM and French Club.
At Kirwan, you have the opportunity to learn a new language in our French Class.
Currently, my class is participating in the Premier’s
Reading Challenge, and so far, we are all doing a fantastic job.
We have a huge library, that provides thousands of books for us to choose.
Our librarian, Mrs K changes the themes regularly so we always have variety.
Often our class gets rewarded a game for all our hard work. We also have a Defence Room to support students with defence parents.
Here you can visit during breaks and play games or just chill. We even get to celebrate the end of the year with a pizza party.
Talk about celebrating, we have a whole school behaviour challenge.
Students are given tokens when caught displaying positive choices.
Tokens are then placed into one of four tubes and each tube represents a different reward.
Today is reward day. We are all wearing our clothes inside out and back to front.
We all look different, silly, and that’s all part of the fun. Kirwan equals opportunities, and that’s what I love about Kirwan Primary.

All of the opportunities that we get. The really good environments that we are provided. It is a happy place to be. There is a positivity here that makes me want to come to school everyday.
