Ready, Set, Go is set to be bigger and better

-

THE BURDEKIN’S marquee early childhood community expo ‘Ready, Set, Go’ will grow to new size this year as it moves from the Burdekin Library to ANZAC park.

The event, set to be held on Wednesday, July 20 this year, will once again host information and market stalls from all manner of community groups, early childhood providers, schools, local businesses and clubs.

Burdekin Mayor Lyn Mclaughlin said the unprecedented success of the event last year meant a move to a bigger staging ground was needed.

“Ready, Set, Go is hosted by Council in partnership with the Burdekin Early Childhood Network as an opportunity to connect parents and young children with the organisations and resources that may assist them in the coming years,” Cr Mclaughlin said.

“Due to the overwhelming attendance last year, the event will move to ANZAC Park this year to allow for even more stallholders as well as a coffee van, free snacks and face painting, opportunities to meet the Burdekin’s Emergency Services and more.

“As well as being able to meet local organisations, I want to also encourage Burdekin families to use this event as an opportunity to network with other parents or socialise with your existing play groups.

“Ready, Set, Go will be a chance for parents to build their support network while allowing their children to develop skills, interact with other children, and have fun at the same time. I look forward to joining the Burdekin Early Childhood Network in welcoming families to ANZAC Park for this event. The event will be held between 9am and 11am.
