RADF Round One 2022-2023 Now Open, Principal Cycle Network Review and Snaptember 2022
Festival Exhibition
The Ingham Arts Festival Exhibition opened on Thursday 4 August 2022, with 110 attendees at the TYTO Regional Art Gallery coming to view the fantastic artwork on display.
The Ingham Arts Festival Exhibition features works from local primary and high school students.
This exhibition will be on display until 4.00pm Friday 2 September 2022.
2022 Tropical Seniors Morning Tea Wrap Up
The 2022 Tropical Seniors Morning Tea held on Friday 5 August 2022 in the Shire Hall was a delightful event, with colourful and tropical clothing everywhere to be seen.
Council thanks Pace Farming for providing pineapple donations for the table decorations and prizes. They tied in well with the vibrant the seniors loved to see.
230 patrons arrived anxious to catch up with friends and family and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with some delectable morning tea.
Thank you to Majestic Café for providing gifts for our guests as well as congratulations to all best dressed and prize winners.
Council appreciates the entertainment provided by Tweak Fitness, the Herbert Valley Voices, Our Lady of Lourdes, Bella Dance Studio, and the Dancers Academy of Ingham throughout the day.
The Year 11 Hospitality class at Ingham State High School also deserve to be congratulated for their hard work put in by serving coffee and tea to all of our beautiful attendees throughout the morning.
National Tree Planting at Lucinda
The Port of Townsville marked National Schools Tree Day on
Friday 29 July 2022 by hosting a combined Schools Tree Planting Day on the foreshore of the Lucinda Port. Students from Halifax State School, Macknade State School and Trebonne State School, who have a combined student body of 25, planted 130 native plants in less than two hours.
Port of Townsville Acting Manager Environment and Planning Elaine Glen said the tree planting was a wonderful way to engage young people with the revegetation of their local area.
Sport Access 2022 Grants
Foundation (SAF)
Sport Access Foundation (SAF) is a charity that provides annual grants to support 7-17 year olds with diverse health conditions or impairments on their chosen sporting pathways.
The aim is to improve accessibility and inclusion and ensure no young Australian is left behind on the sporting sidelines.
This year SAF is offering four categories of grants to support children with a disability to play sports:
• The No Barriers and Kick Start grants assist with sports participation costs;
• Sporting Organisation can apply for the Bluescope Sporting Club grants; and
• Aspiring Paralympians can apply for the Compeat Performance Pathway to Paralympic grants. Applications close on Friday 12 August 2022.

Free Presentations to Help Older Australians Stay Safer Online
To improve the digital skills of older Australians and to help them keep safer online, the esafety Commissioner is hosting free online presentations as part of the Be Connected initiative.
Topics include how to use government websites, staying safe on Facebook, how to avoid scams, and safer online shopping and banking.
These presentations are delivered in an engaging and easy to understand wanting to develop their digital skills

Regional Arts Development Fund Round One Public Applications Now Open for 2022-2023
Do you or someone you know have a project idea that could contribute to Arts and Culture in the Hinchinbrook Shire?
Applications for funding through Council's Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Program are open for Round One until Friday 26 August 2022.
RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
RADF provides funding to successful applicants for up to 70% of the total project cost.

Principal Cycle Network Review

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) is reviewing the State's Principal Cycle Network, which lays out a blueprint for the core bicycle riding routes needed to inspire Queenslanders to ride more often.
DTMR welcomes your comments and feedback to help encourage Queenslanders to make the choice to ride in their communities in the future.

Snaptember 2022
Snap Send Solve are excited to announce that after the success of last year's Snaptember campaign, they are bringing this community initiative back in 2022.
Snaptember encourages Australian and New Zealand residents to report issues in their local area to help spring clean their communities.
For each week of September, there is a chosen community focus:
• Week One: Dumped Rubbish;
• Week Two: Abandoned Trolleys;
• Week Three: Overgrown
Vegetation; and
• Week Four: .
Every time a Snapper reports the issue of the week, they will go in the running to win $500 ($250 for themselves and $250 to donate to a charity of their choice).
All prize money is provided by Snap Send Solve. One winner will be chosen each week.
