CADE Colquhoun scored five goals as MA Olympic took control at the top of the FQPL Northern Men’s table.
The striker was in great form as he continued to provide headaches for the Estates defence whenever he was in front of goal.
A sublime chip from the top of the box highlighted his finishing class.
The striker was provided great service from his wide attackers and linked well with his midfield throughout the game.
Substitute midfielder Anthony Goweid provided the catalyst for several secondhalf goals as he linked with Colquhoun.
Youngster Padraic Glasheen scored the other goal for MA Olympic.
With Brothers FC sitting out the round with a bye, MA Olympic have now regained a six-point lead at the top over their rivals.
In other matches, Rebels enjoyed home-ground advantage when they hosted bottom-of-the-ladder team Riverway JCU.
Riverway JCU were coming into this match with some confidence after a last-round 5-2 win against Burdekin.
Riverway JCU started the game strongly as they looked to unsettle Rebels playing long and obtaining good possession high up the field, successfully contesting the first and second ball.
Rebels coach Ken Mitchell applauded the obvious game structure changes that Riverway JCU had implemented since the last time these teams met.
In the second half Rebels were more composed as they controlled possession and gained some ascendancy.
Rebels continued to look dangerous as they started to exploit the space behind the Riverway JC defenders.
The Gunners eventually proved too strong, winning 4-0 with Joel Russell and substitute Jordan Laban the goal scorers.
Saints Eagles South travelled to International Park to play Burdekin.
Burdekin started well under the guidance of coach Chris Wicks.
Saints Eagles South controlled much of the possession, but a lack of composure created some headaches as Burdekin looked to counter-attack quickly. Second-half adjustments proved effective for Saints Eagles South as they took control of the game.
Saints Eagles South eventually prevailed 2-1.
The club welcomed some return to form for striker Campbell Hume.
The final four for the finals series seems to have been decided but teams cannot rest as there are always some upsets on the cards if complacency is displayed.
