FUN BREWS FOR OKT-TINY-FEST

-

TOWNSVILLE will get its first sip of Oktoberfest this weekend as the Tiny Mountain Brewery brings back Okt-tiny-fest.

Venue manager Tim Bennie said the event would immerse attendees in the spirit of Germany as it takes over the brewery.

“Okt-tiny-fest is going to be a fun free event,” Mr Bennie said.

“Our Tiny team will be strapping on our lederhosen and looking forward to having some fun with our customers and maybe singing a little out of tune.

“We will be building a large beer hall marquee in the carpark and hosting a classic oompah band, pretzels, brewers in wigs, and most importantly our team have created a fresh new brew.”

Head brewer Dave Mullins has already completed work on the venue’s signature brew to celebrate the event.

“We’ve brewed a new beer especially for the occasion,” Mr Mullins said.

“We’ve called it ‘The other side of the wheat’, which is a tiny tribute to some graffiti that was on the wall here before we moved in.

“It’s a German-style classic wheat beer but we put a tiny twist on it.

“We’ve thrown in tropical hops so it’s going to be a cracker.

“With the NRL season coming to a close, this will be the last chance for the year to enjoy our Cowboys Castle beer, which is a traditional German ale.

“Our Tiny Tuckshop and Justin and his Mangiamo food truck team will be cooking up some Germaninspired food offerings.

“Following on from the success of our Tiny Day Out Festival in July we know this is going to be another great event and we can’t wait.”

The event will begin at midday on Saturday.
