I’ll be Home (Hill) for Christmas

YOU BETTER watch out and better not cry: the date has been set for Burdekin Shire Council’s Community Christmas Carols, with the event set to take over Home Hill State High School on Sunday 11 December.

Council is now calling for food and drink stallholde­rs for the event, with applicatio­ns open until Monday, 7 November.

Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Lyn Mclaughlin said the event had become a must-attend on many North Queensland­ers’ festive calendars.

“I am proud to announce we will be returning to Home Hill State High School for the 2022 Burdekin Community Christmas Carols, and invite families from across the region to join us for what is always one of the largest community events of the year,” Cr Mclaughlin said.

“Applicatio­ns are now open for food and drink stallholde­rs to be part of the festivitie­s, with applicatio­ns open for the next month. I want to encourage all food and drink vendors to apply to be part of the day, with more informatio­n available on Council’s website.

“The Burdekin has become renowned for hosting Community Christmas Carols featuring a range of our region’s best talent complement­ed by messages from our local personalit­ies and churches, with a large number of food trucks and market stalls – I look forward to seeing everyone at the 2022 event.”

Council’s 2022 Community Christmas Carols will be held on Sunday 11 December from 5:30-8:30pm. Stallholde­rs can access an applicatio­n form by phoning 4783 9800 or emailing commdev@burdekin.qld.gov. au, with applicatio­ns due by Monday 7 November.
