Eager to sell business to be with her dying mum
ANYBODY buying Trudi Turner’s burger bar will not only be acquiring a “damn good” business but will also be giving her the precious time she needs to be with her mother before she dies.
Ms Turner’s mum, Trenna Dennis, who lives in Adelaide, is suffering from advanced cancer.
“I’m very keen to go down and spend what time mum has left to be with her. But we are running out of time,” a desperate Ms Turner said.
Ms Turner’s Bohle Burger Bar in Ingham Rd has been on the market for a year, listed with business broker NQ Business Sales.
Ms Turner said it was a “damn good little business” employing five people and providing food five days a week to the many businesses in the Bohle industrial area.
It has traded for 30 years under several owners.
Under Ms Turner’s ownership, it has operated two food vans which are included in the sale.
She said the business’s takings had tripled in five years under her ownership and that it would suit a young family because it was closed on weekends and during the Christmas break.
“It’s an amazing business. It predominantly serves the tradies and truckies. The two mobile smoko vans run around the industrial area,” Ms Turner said.
The sale involves taking on the lease of the burger bar and
two other adjoining tenancies which are vacant but have the potential to provide further income.
So far there has been some interest but few genuine inquiries.
Ms Turner appealed to the Bulletin in the hope of finding a buyer.
She saw her mother for a few days last week during a quick trip to Adelaide when her husband Warren stepped in to run the business.
She hopes they can both spend as much time as possible with her.
“She is amazing. She’s never smoked or drank but she has cancer. I want to get down there as soon as possible,” Ms Turner said.
The business is being offered for sale for $350,000 plus stock.
