THE star is continuing to rise for Queensland’s newest onair Langbroek.

Bronte Langbroek, the daughter of politician JohnPaul Langbroek and niece of radio star Kate Langbroek, has landed a major role as co-host of the Hit Queensland breakfast show.

In a return to her home state, Langbroek will join cohost Guy “Cliffo” Clifton in Townsville, replacing outgoing host Gabi Elgood.

It comes less than a year after she left Nova Brisbane to host a breakfast radio show in Canberra, identified as one to watch by radio executives.

“I can’t wait to return and defrost in the Queensland sunshine,” she said.

“I’m so looking forward to working alongside someone who has created arguably the most successful statewide Breakfast show in the country. “I have a huge amount of respect for Cliffo, and to share a studio with him, and begin a new era for the show is so exciting. Plus waking up every day in North Queensland is a dream.”

Langbroek was nine when she first visited her aunt in the Nova studio in Melbourne, when she was on air with Dave Hughes, and discovered an instant affinity for the buzz of live radio.

She nabbed her first internship at Nova in Brisbane at 19 with the support of Kate, and ended up working in various departments at Nova for four years before working in Melbourne, on the Gold Coast and regionally in Wagga Wagga.

Last year she filled in for Susie O’neill on Nova 106.9’s top-rating Ash, Luttsy & Susie breakfast show during the Tokyo Olympics before landing her first breakfast gig in Canberra. Cliffo & Bronte will air on Hit Queensland Breakfast from Townsville to Toowoomba every from Monday, November 7.

“Bronte is outgoing, intelligent and just super fun. Pretty much everything I’m not. Teaming up with her is going to be like one of those rare MAFS marriages that actually works,” Clifton said.
