Why plumbing and gas maintenance is important
With the warmer temperatures upon us, we farewell winter for another year and say hello to spring.
The new season does bring with it potential home plumbing and hot water system problems which you should be made aware of and a reminder why plumbing maintenance is so important to help avoid them.
Plumbing
During the hotter months pipes are at the mercy of tree root damage as they search for more water than the rain is able to provide. This consequently has the potential to wage an underground war on your home’s plumbing system and why it is important to have your plumbing checked and cleaned annually to avoid such problems - and spring is a great reminder to do this.
Hot water systems
Following the winter months hot water systems are renowned for failing because the water is so cold from the weather and the system has to work twice as hard for the exact same results. Spring is a great time to get your hot water system serviced to prevent any faults and will also add years of life to your system. Gas
Homes often have a gas appliance of some type and if left unmaintained can be a dangerous trap. If you have problems with the pressure relief valve of your gas water heater for example, or the temperature is set too high, pressure can build up in the water tank. If overlooked, this could potentially explode causing serious damage. Therefore regular maintenance is essential to locate small gas leaks that could otherwise be left unnoticed.
Plumbing maintenance is the best way to avoid the inconvenience of a plumbing dilemma, saving you not only time and money, but safeguards your family's safety. Whenever you have a cracked pipe or no hot water - or better still, want to avoid it all together!
