Festive fun for final Storytime of the Year

The Burdekin Library will celebrate a myriad of cultures 2022, with the First 5 Forever Christmas Around the World Storytime being held at the Burdekin Theatre Foyer on Friday 2 December.

Christmas Around the World Storytime will include festive stories, arts and crafts, presentations from a range of cultures about how they celebrate Christmas, and a visit from Santa.

Mayor Lyn Mclaughlin said the support for the Burdekin Library’s First 5 Forever events in 2022 had been fantastic.

“I want to thank all of the young families who have joined us for one of the Burdekin Library’s First 5 Forever Storytimes, Baby Rhyme Times, Toddler Times or Messy Play sessions this year – the growing number of participants is great to see and we look forward to celebrating with you all at the Christmas Around the World Storytime on 2 December,” Cr Mclaughlin said.

“Pre bookings are required for this event to ensure Santa knows all of the boys and girls he will be seeing on the morning, so I encourage all families to book in.

“The best thing about the Burdekin is our people: our community is stronger because of the melting pot of cultures who call our Shire home, and we look forward to celebrating them all as part of Christmas Around the World Storytime.

“While First 5 Forever programs will pause over the Christmas holidays, the Burdekin Library will host a range of exciting school holiday activities set to be announced in the coming weeks as well as the annual Summer Reading Club Challenge – check Burdekin Library and Burdekin Shire Council’s Facebook pages for updates.”
