Locals to shine at Burdekin carols

THE Burdekin 2022 Community Christmas Carols will be held at Home Hill State High School on Sunday 11 December.

The evening will include food and drink stalls, a free family photo booth, free face painting and glow products for sale.

Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Lyn Mclaughlin said that this year the focus was on local performers including Perform Music Studios, Burdekin Singers and Theatre Company and Burdekin Brass Band.

“This year, a new performanc­e will be a Celtic Christmas dance as well as a performanc­e by local Fast Track Winner Sofia Sari on the violin. There will also be a special guest dressed in red, who is always a highlight,”

Christmas messages from local schools and aged care homes as well as a Christmas message from Pastor Gavin Henderson.”

“Glenn “Minty” Mintern will compere our evening, bringing his big personalit­y and experience to the stage and the evening will end with a bang with the Firework Spectacula­r set to be a highlight.”

“While tickets are completely free, tickets must be pre-booked at bit.ly/2022carols­bdk to register your attendance. Anyone who prebooks their tickets for the event will go into the draw to win a family pass to Roald Dahl’s -THE TWITS – Coming to Burdekin Theatre in 2023.”
