A deeper look

- BARRY DAVIES, Cranbrook.

Queensland Education Minister Grace Grace, yes for those readers who don’t follow politics closely, that is her real name, it’s not a typo error of mine as a result of a mild hangover on a Saturday morning; has much to answer to some of her Labor faithful who frequent the esteemed OPINION page of this newspaper. The local Labor loyalists I refer to, have been giving readers of this newspaper a good laugh with their coffee in the morning for a few years now. Given the state of affairs in the world, locally from the juvenile crime chaos gifted to us by the Palaszczuk government, right through to Putin’s Russian invasion of Ukraine, and China’s long term plan to dominate the world, the readers of this newspaper really do need a good laugh in the morning. So to Glenn, Steve, Steven and to a handful of other party faithful, on behalf of readers of this newspaper, may I thank you for diverting our attention away from the troubles of this world, with some good old fashioned light entertainment to start the day with our coffee.

So what does this have to do with the Palaszczuk government Education Minister Grace Grace Grace. Apologies, that last Grace was a typo, I need to get off the heavy beer and back onto some of the light stuff. Damn that hangover! Well Grace Grace, all two of them, has/ have hit the jackpot for light entertainment for readers getting ready to face the world for another day with a good coffee. Her humour is so good, she has a future post politics as a stand up comedian, but has sadly knocked Glenn, Steve, and Steven etc off their pedestal.

So just exactly what did Grace Grace Grace say that was so funny. Well folks, following on from Peter Beattie’s recommendation that Palaszczuk should anoint a future successor, Grace Grace Grace has seriously claimed that the Queensland Palaszczuk ministry is choc a block full of talent, all capable of being another Palaszczuk. Given my evaluation of Palaszczuk’s performance as Premier over the last 7 years, who am I to argue with Grace Grace Grace. The editor would never print a letter that long listing the failure of the whole bloody cabinet, but perhaps I can get away with just a few.

Steven Miles – the grinning, annoying nervous voice of an ambitious Deputy Premier and leader of the Left Faction whose only claim to fame was calling the Prime Minister of Australia a C — t. Definitely not leadership material.

Cameron Dick – Treasurer and the leader of the right faction, who was going to be the next Labor leader in Queensland following Anna Bligh, but lost his seat for one term when Campbell Newman defeated Bligh.

Palasczuk ruined his leadership ambitions by naughtily defeating Newman after one term. His land tax debacle where Palaszczuk threw him under the bus, finished off any ambitions of leadership. Amusingly, political leadership rival, the Left’s Steven Miles, again couldn’t get the grin off his face as he sunk the boot into Dick by excitedly supporting the Premiers decision to axe the land tax.

Health Minister Yvette D’ath – Health in Queensland is such a mess under this Minister, Palaszczuk should have sent her packing to the backbench ages ago.

Children and Youth Justice Minister Leanne Linard – Overseen the youth crime chaos in Queensland, just about says it all about her abilities for leadership. Belongs on the backbench with D’ath.

Shannon Fentiman – AttorneyGeneral and Justice – Responsible for the juvenile crime laws in

Queensland that have seen the safety and quality of life of all Queenslanders go down the gurgler. Need I say more. Amazingly, the Palaszczuk cabinet is so bereft of talent, political journalists are saying she is the best of a bad lot of those with leadership ambitions. Now that is scary for the victims of crime in this city.

Scott Stewart – I have included him only because he is a local known by the readers of this newspaper. The bloke can’t or won’t even answer a question, any bloody question, I’ve put to him in this newspaper over the years.

So there you have it, what a talentless lot. All I can add is I am going to get tickets to comedian

Grace Grace Grace when she appears at the Civic Theatre or the Townsville Entertainment Centre in her post political career. it will be a laugh, and I will be drinking beer and champagne before her performance, not coffee.
