RACE 6 QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HCP (1050M)

Chinny Boom ($2.10) looks a standout with her impeccable record. Only defeat in six starts came in the (L) Mode Plate when beaten in a close photo finish in December. She had a good hit out in a recent barrier trial and is all set to return a winner. Exo Lady ($14) is well placed over this distance with a 3kg claim for Cejay Graham. She finished behind Chinny Boom last start but will appreciate the shorter trip. Beast Mode ($7) was beaten by a smart one last start and should enjoy a perfect run, while Goblin’ De Quo ($8.50) is speedy and will be in it for a long way. SELECTIONS: 2 Chinny Boom, 1 Exo Lady, 4 Beast Mode, 10 Goblin’ De Quo

RACE 7

STRADBROKE SEASON ON SALE NOW BM 75 HCP (1200M)

Amore Veloce ($10) has a perfect first-up record and showed she is on song with an all-the-way win in a recent barrier trial at Doomben. Self Indulgent ($4) usually improves with a run under her belt, but the likelihood of a soft track and the booking of James Orman are positives. Birriecart ($5) has been disappointing in two runs back, but he gets his preferred ‘give’ in the ground and will have the addition of blinkers. Light Of Boom’s ($7.50) last two efforts have been good, in particular, his latest second placing to the smart Kipsbay.

SELECTIONS: 15 Amore Veloce,

11 Self Indulgent, 2 Birriecart, 9 Light Of Boom

RACE 8 MEKKAFEST 19 AUGUST OPEN QUALITY HCP (1350M)

Tumbler Ridge ($5) is set to peak at his third run back from a spell. It was almost six weeks between runs when he finished strongly when beaten less than a length in a similar race here on March 18. Hilal ($5) showed plenty of fight when beaten narrowly by the much lighter weighted The Big Goodbye a fortnight ago and looks suited stepping up to 1350m. London Banker ($26) was good when first-up in this race last year. His recent Jumpout at Doomben looked pleasing, while Legal Esprit ($5.50) and Irish Songs ($12) are also chances. SELECTIONS: 3 Tumbler Ridge,

1 Hilal, 2 London Banker, 13 Legal Esprit

RACE 9 CASCADE QTIS CLASS 6 PLATE (1350M)

Alburq ($9.50) acquitted himself well winning three metropolitan races since coming north to Brian Smith’s stables at Eagle Farm. He’s had a freshen up and finds an ideal race. Astero’s ($4.60) Sydney form is good enough to give this a shake. He is fit and a wet track enhances his chances. Nothinsweetaboutme ($10) is worth keeping safe. The ex-waterhouse & Bott-trained mare arrives here with an excellent profile being a six-time winner from only 17 starts. Without Revenge ($6) is a nice horse returning after two barrier trials.

SELECTIONS: 12 Alburq, 5 Astero,

11 Nothinsweetaboutme, 15 Without Revenge
