Egg- cellent Easter odds

-

Is it two or three premiership contenders on show for Easter Saturday? We know the Panthers are, we think the Broncos are, how about Manly? The Sea Eagles face a massive test here.

Hey, also, Canberra is playing!

Either way, it’s a huge set-up for a massive Saturday.

PENRITH PANTHERS: $1.28 MANLY SEA EAGLES: $3.70 BLUEBET STADIUM, SATURDAY 5.30PM

The Panthers are coming off one of their biggest wins in several years - a 53-12 drubbing in Canberra.

It was a performance that sends a shock of warning right through the competition.

PANTHERS PURRING

Penrith has officially clicked into gear, based off last week’s efforts. Coach Ivan Cleary is finding solutions to the hole left by Viliame Kikau’s departure; young Zac Hosking looks a real one.

Manly posed no threat to the Panthers in this corresponding fixture last year, the season-opener. And how much has changed?

BETR FEATURED SGM: PENRITH WIN BY 13+, OVER 42.5 POINTS & BRIAN TO’O TO SCORE A TRY - $4.33

TRAVELLING SEA EAGLES DISRESPECTED

Manly is being given little hope of proving it can take its home form on the road.

Even against the Knights, in a ‘home’ fixture, they spluttered after opening up

an early 10-point lead. It was an embarrassing display by their standards.

This Sea Eagles team has shown way more promise than its 2022 campaign, but stepping up in Penrith is a whole new kettle of fish. THE PICK: PENRITH PANTHERS -11.5, $1.96

BRISBANE BRONCOS: $1.14 CANBERRA RAIDERS: $5.90 SUNCORP STADIUM, SATURDAY 7.35PM

These two sides could not be

sitting any further apart on the form spectrum.

UNBEATEN BRONCOS

Brisbane is the only team yet to taste defeat this season and, on multiple occasions already, Kevin Walters’ group has pulled away and covered the line against average sides.

With Reece Walsh delivering from the back, the side has made really light work of the Dragons and Tigers in the past month. There’s not much evidence to support the case they won’t out-muscle this Raiders side at home.

BRISBANE BRONCOS - TO WIN BOTH HALVES: $1.75 CRUMBY CANBERRA

Well, the Raiders have been arguably the most disappointing team of the season, based on expectations.

This side finished in the top eight and even won a final last September.

Canberra is mightily up against it now - only one win to show for its 2023 season so far and coming off a defeat that could leave scarring.

It’s not uncommon that teams transfer a week of

adversity into an emotional high on the field.

But Jack Wighton is still suspended, and Xavier Savage still hasn’t returned from his pre-season jaw fracture.

And that’s two really important contributors they’ll once again miss.

THE PICK: BRISBANE BRONCOS -15.5, $1.82
