First Shari now Tony. Both far too good to lose. What will the

Townsville Bulletin do without them? Happy retirement to you Tony. It’s well deserved. W CH

As a staunch Republican, would it be possible that our own prime minister, Anthony Albanese, could be a closet Monarchist? D. BILTON W /END

Positive story Sat Bulletin about Johnathan Thurston. Well done mate wish you could come back and play halfback for us. TONY4812 Albo believes being PM means he has to be a non-stop clown magic show. Pity he can’t conjure up some useful ideas? GEO CONDON

I grew up respecting Queen

Elizabeth the 2nd reign but now I’m done. Our National Anthem speaks volumes about us as a nation, so when are we going to let go of British antiquity and aristocracy that still thinks it rules half of the world? Charles the 3rd will never be my King. CARL FRIES, PIMLICO

OMG what’s going on at Carlyle Gardens? Yardman on strike? The grounds & gardens used to look lovely when I went to the markets there. CAZ KIRWAN

Long live the King. Loved all the pomp and ceremony. Worth every pound. MHV4810

The voice to parliament will do very little to address the systemic issues with First Nations running

their own organisation. Inexperienced in governance and finances with nepotism rift across all these orgs in TSV. Key fact is greed is driving inequalities amongst Indigenous people in TSV. JOHN, OONOONBA

Can Jenny Hill please tell the 195,000 Townsvilleans who didn’t go to the rugby union on Sat night just how much ratepayers contributed to getting the games played here? While she’s at it, how much did the poorly attended Townsville Eats cost us?

Surely these figures can’t be commercial-in-confidence. DK 4810

Re: Electric Cars: Why not race

them on the racetrack and rally circuit? Could be fun, great way to test new models and don’t forget the motto “Win on Sunday, sell on Monday”. T. M. CURRAJONG

Jess95 white Mazda. Texting and tailgating. Sunday arvo University drive. An accident waiting to happen. JIM 4817.

Awakened from my slumber on Sunday morning by the protesting howls out of the tyres of another stolen car, I rolled over content that they were safe from being prosecuted by police and fell asleep. PM. MOUNT LOUISA. 4814 Good to see the Cowboys tackling in numbers. JLF, CITY

To all those who believe it’s

possible that Jim Chalmers is capable of producing a legitimate budget surplus, I’ve got a hill for sale with a bitumen road up to a lookout and a large saint drawn on the rock face. RON KELSO.

Re: Aldi coming – why is it going to Willows when there is already Coles & Woolworths? Three supermarkets in one shopping centre is ridiculous. It should be somewhere as a stand-alone like the old Woollies at Deeragun or Cannon Park or even Hyde Park. DENNY BURDELL
