RACE 6 JRA CHAIRMAN’S HANDICAP (G3) (2000M)

Kalapour ($4) is only lightly raced and has gone well in three runs since moving north. Found Serpentine too strong last start but he never gave up and only needs to offset a wide gate to be right in the finish. The only blemish for Cepheus ($5) this time in was in the Doncaster Mile on a heavy track. His ability to position in the leading group is a big advantage at Doomben. London Banker ($9.50) has won four races here and is ready to peak after two runs since a spell. Yaphet ($8.50) gets a soft run and should find the line strongly. SELECTIONS: 8 Kalapour, 3 Cepheus, 5 London Banker, 12 Yaphet

RACE 7 ROUGH HABIT PLATE (G3) (2000M)

Kovalica ($1.90) was super when wide and winning the Queensland Guineas and again he has to deal with an awkward gate but looks to be a star of the future. The Vowels ($6) was also gutsy last start when a close-up third behind Kovalica, but is unproven over this distance. Stroke Of Luck ($7.50) had excuses at his last two starts during the Sydney autumn carnival. The good gate (3) and the booking of Nash Rawiller keeps him under notice. So Dazzling ($8.50) will probably go back and hope for some for luck.

SELECTIONS: 1 Kovalica, 2 The Vowels, 5 Stroke Of Luck, 16 So Dazzling

RACE 8 DOOMBEN 10,000 (G1) (1200M)

Giga Kick ($1.70) won The Everest last preparation under the same weight conditions and distance. He easily rounded them up in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes a month ago. With a solid tempo likely and the good barrier draw (4) he should be able to repeat here. Aft Cabin ($5.50) might find the 1200m against this competition a bit short but he will be powering home, as will stablemate Vilana ($10) coming off a tough win when wide in the Hall Mark Stakes. Mazu ($90) won this race last year when it was held at Eagle Farm, but was no match for

Giga Kick last start.

SELECTIONS: 8 Giga Kick, 9 Aft Cabin, 5 Vilana, 2 Mazu

RACE 9 MAGIC MILLIONS BRIGHT SHADOW (L) (1110M)

A Very Fine Red ($6) has returned from a spell in great order with gutsy efforts against the boys, in particular last start when raced wide but yet kept chasing hard when second to the speedy Malkovich at Hawkesbury. She gets a nice run on-pace from the good draw. Siege ($7.50) is unbeaten first-up for the Godolphin team and is ready to go with two easy trials under her belt. Extremist ($4.60) was run down by Stradbroke-bound Antino last start and again will give a great sight from the front. Ghaanati ($15) is the interesting runner here after showing ability at her first prep. SELECTIONS: 3 A Very Fine Red, 10 Siege, 9 Extremist, 21 Ghaanati
