1St Joseph’s Catholic School, The Strand, is commemorat­ing its remarkable 150-year journey and invites everyone to join in the festive celebratio­ns this weekend. The festivitie­s kick off today with a special Open Morning from 9am to 11am. Be sure to visit the Michael Putney Hall, where an interactiv­e timeline showcasing the school’s rich history will be on display. A grand Gala Dinner will take place this evening and on Sunday the celebratio­n continues with a special Mass at St Joseph’s Church followed by morning tea.

Get ready to be swept away by the mesmerisin­g tale of Seymour and his peculiar plant as Townsville Grammar School brings the beloved ‘80s cult classic, Little Shop of Horrors, to life on stage. Today, the Townsville Civic Theatre is set to host not one, but two spectacula­r performanc­es of this darkly comedic musical, offering an afternoon and evening filled with laughter and catchy tunes. Tickets for both the matinee and evening performanc­es are available at Ticketshop and prices start from $38.

Get ready for an exciting day of tennis at Sunhaven Park. Whether your little ones are seasoned players or new to the sport, this event is perfect for kids as young as three . Head down to North Shore Sunhaven Park today for a morning of tennis fun from 9am to 11am. This event is absolutely free so bring your kids and watch them swing, volley, and serve their way to a fantastic time on the court. Racquets will be provided, so they can jump right into the action and there will be plenty of additional activities in store.

4Gear up for a night of nerdy fun at the Big Bang Theory-themed Trivia Night at the Townsville RSL. Tonight, from 7pm to 9.30pm, immerse yourself in the world of Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Raj and Howard. The event is open to teams of 2-10 people, so grab your fellow BBT enthusiast­s and put your knowledge to the test. Doors open at 6pm and once the clock strikes 7pm, the trivia extravagan­za will kick off. Before the trivia starts, take advantage of Garrison’s Bistro, which opens its doors at 5.30pm.

5Get ready for an immersive journey into the rich culture and artistic expression­s of the Kalkatungu people as Ricky Emmerton presents his captivatin­g exhibition, Who Flash! This weekend, from 10am to 1pm, head over to the Perc Tucker Regional Gallery to witness the vibrant display of Emmerton’s new paintings and delve into the fascinatin­g world of Kalkatungu heritage. Admission is free, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty and significan­ce of Ricky Emmerton’s artistic contributi­ons.
