My heartfelt thanks to police. paramedics…….friends ….family neighbours for flowers and cards in support during my home invasion and assault recently…….old GIRL

Good to see the police equipping themselves with new armoured vehicles. Hope a couple come to Townsville. Instead of the police running back to base when rammed they might do a bit of ramming themselves. Just like the old days in NSW with the f100 with bullbars.bring it on little dears. BILL KIRWAN.

Watching the latest attacks on our police officers, I can only decry the Puddleduck government mantra ‘We have the youth crime situation

under control’. The government interpretation of ‘under control’ is so flawed that it belies disbelief. It is time for this government to GO. And GO NOW. RAY HUGHENDEN

Why are we sitting back and watching part of Townsville history slowly crumble? With the owners of the Great Northern Hotel/pub letting it sit there deteriorating when it’s heritage listed, I always believed that those buildings needed to be preserved. How can we get this part of history back up and looked after like it deserves? CONCERNED LOCAL. WEST END

Yep we want a leader that knows how to say no, does such a person exist, maybe one will turn up

before the next election. CRIS WULGURU

Never thought I’d be agreeing with Ron but yep, we are all Australians. But shame on consecutive state and federal governments and particularly the political parties themselves, for failing to address indigenous social housing, educational and health issues. Much money has been wasted. I don’t mind the idea of a Voice to parliament but I foresee many High court cases wasting even more money once enshrined in the constitution. It’s a no for me. JIM 4817

What more proof do you need that our PM is a media show pony when you have a stadium full of Australian resident Indian citizens

cheering the visiting Indian PM and our PM takes all the limelight and makes out the cheering is all for him which was far from the truth. RON KELSO.

The starry-eyed dreamers who believe the global warming garbage think everyone should drive electric cars. There’s not enough known deposits of lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese to build them. Plus, there’s too few baseload generators to charge them. The whole idea is intended to remove your personal mobility. MARIE, AITKENVALE Fed up with hearing motorcycles and cars speeding down Bundock Street every night and using it as a dragway. Note to Queensland

Police Service: can we please have more patrols? SARA, BELGIAN GARDENS

In 2012, the BOM upgraded the power supplies to the platinum resistance probes it uses for temperature measurement and caused 0.3 to 0.5 degrees increase in “global warming” across 30% of its network. For that, and for similar activism within BOM, your power bills have tripled. HIGGS, THURINGOWA
