Ron, Kelso – the ABC Election Promise Tracker shows 3 out of 66 promises broken, and one of those delivered is the establishment of the National Anti Corruption Commission, which in itself is a great outcome.

STEVE, GURAMBILBARRA.

I normally agree with Phil Thompson, but if locals were in the vacant DHA properties they would be evicted come January, when the 500 defence personnel start arriving. Even current single defence members in surplus DHA homes have been told they may be evicted come the new year. ROCK, KIRWAN.

Good story on Saturday about Price of dentist. But I still think there should be some sort of inquiry into their charges. 7k for two new knees, 40k for four tooth implants. Really? JB, 4812.

Knowledge is power Ron, Kelso. Labor made 66 promises in the federal election. To date 25 delivered, 32 in progress, 6 stalled and 3 broken. Source: ABC fact check, promise tracker. TOM, IDALIA.

DHA have a requirement to keep a certain number of houses vacant to accommodate new ADF members families when posted into the area and some buildings require routine maintenance when vacated. Not all houses are owned outright, with

DHA leasing many of them from private investors under strict contracts. JEFF, CONDON.

In all the years of visiting and staying on my Grandmother’s and Uncle’s farms at Mardi, just south of El Arish near Big Maria Creek (1950s to present day), I have never seen a cassowary in that area. I refer to John Anderson’s Talk of the North, TB 13/4. AS, 4814.

Steve, Gurambilbarra. Re pumped hydro. We are building the world’s biggest pumped hydro west of Mackay. That statement simply rolled off your keyboard without a thought. This particular pumped hydro project is going to decimate the

Mackay Hinterland. Have you ever been there? Sometimes Steve, your texts make me wonder what sort of person you are. Whatever anyone says about our Labor government, you are straight in to defend them. Have you ever thought that they are not always right? I agree that pumped hydro is the way to go but not at the expense of our pristine environment, as is the Pioneer Valley (Eungella). JOHN, 4820.

Looks like it’s all staying up north. We might have a shower on Thursday. WEATHER WATCHER, 4812.

Flashback Fact: Remember when Joe Hockey famously didn’t do anything about saving manufacturing in

Australia when it came to the car industry? HJL, TOWNSVILLE.

It’s interesting that Phil Thompson has suddenly taken an interest in DHA lack of housing. The previous council were asking about this for years and he wasn’t interested. Is there an opportunity for photo Phil to say something totally irrelevant again? MAX, 4814.

Nanna, 4814. It wouldn’t take long to reach a point to realise who you want in your life and who you wouldn’t give a drink of water to if their kidneys were on fire. RON, KELSO.
