The key air­lines sold by travel agent re­spon­dents cor­re­lated closely to their re­spec­tive mar­ket shares, with Emi­rates, Eti­had, Air New Zealand, Garuda and Vir­gin Aus­tralia mak­ing up the top five – fol­lowed by South African Air­ways, Sin­ga­pore Air­lines, Fin­nair, Qatar Air­ways and Cathay Pa­cific. The re­sults are fas­ci­nat­ing given that Qan­tas didn’t even ap­pear in the top ten, de­spite rank­ing well in other ar­eas of the poll. In terms of train­ing and devel­op­ment for agents Air New Zealand led the pack, fol­lowed by Qan­tas, Emi­rates, Eti­had, Lufthansa and Sin­ga­pore Air­lines. A num­ber of re­spon­dents com­mented on how much they liked the new Qan­tas Groups sys­tem, while Hainan Air­lines, Qan­tas, Emi­rates, Vir­gin Aus­tralia and Sin­ga­pore Air­lines ranked high­est when it came to solv­ing cus­tomer prob­lems. Agents were asked which air­lines Sin­ga­pore Air­lines, Eti­had, Vir­gin Aus­tralia and Cathay Pa­cific. Re­spon­dents rated Emi­rates’ pre­mium cab­ins best, fol­lowed by Eti­had, Sin­ga­pore Air­lines and Qatar Air­ways, with Qan­tas com­ing in fifth spot, just ahead of Air New Zealand, Cathay Pa­cific, Vir­gin Aus­tralia and Fin­nair. Ac­cord­ing to the sur­vey the best air­fare spe­cials are of­fered by Eti­had, fol­lowed by Qatar Air­ways, Sin­ga­pore Air­lines, Malaysia Air­lines and Aira­sia.
