Avis contactles­s car hire option

Customers arriving at key airport hubs around the country who are signed up to Avis Car Rental Australia’s express rental program Avis Preferred can now experience a streamline­d service following enhancemen­ts to its mobile app.

Through the Avis Now app, customers can manage a range of vehicle preference­s and push notificati­ons to inform them when their vehicle is ready and its precise location.

Other features of the Avis app provide specifics such as the make and model of the car, a copy of the rental agreement and an itemised receipt.

Guests can also swap their vehicle for another within the same category or upgrade to a higher tier, extend their rental directly and even return the vehicle with the app.

Managing director of Avis Australia Kaye Ceille said the app’s introducti­on locally kept pace with the needs of today’s savvy traveller.

“We worked closely with our customers to design the new rental process around their needs and wishes, and the result is an app experience that is more convenient, quicker and more personalis­ed.”

Ceille said when the product debuted in the United States last year, customer feedback showed they enjoyed having the ability to view their vehicle in real-time and to exchange or upgrade before arriving at the depot.

The contactles­s car hire option has initially been rolled at airport locations in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Avis Preferred is free to join.
