CHALLENGER BRINGS HOME THE AWARD

-

CONGRATULATIONS to Logan Leethan for winning t his year's Readers Resto of t he Year vote. His 1970 Dodge Challenger topscored by a fair margin from a ver y hot field of 13 projects t hat we published over 2018.

Logan reckons he didn't start out as a Mopar fan, but ended up becoming one purely by chance.

“You can blame the Targa High Countr y for this project – t hat's where I first saw a 'Cuda being driven in anger,” he told us when we published t he feature.

“The first year I went – I'll a lways remember t his

– a green Ply mouth 'Cuda wit h a Hemi in it lined up. I reckon the noise it made had the koalas dropping out of t he trees. The sk id it did of f t he sta rting line was massive, but it couldn't do turns. You could hear it slow right down and then it was on t he noise again. It was something different. Most of t he cars were Holdens, Falcons and Mustangs, but there didn't seem to be another Chr ysler. From then on I wanted one ! ”

Congratulations to a ll 13 owners who were in the running – we know just how hard you worked to get those cars up and running and we're ver y gratef ul t hat you shared your stories.
