HOLDEN VC COMMODORE
1982 SYMMONS PLAINS LIMITED EDITION OF 750PIECES WORLDWIDE
At Symmons Plains in 1982, Peter Brock started third on the grid, with arch-rival Dick Johnson on pole. Brock got a poor start but by the fourth lap was astern of the Blue falcon and looking confident. The rest of the field did not look so stable. Brock weighed up his opportunities, then made a neat passing move with twelve laps to go and was never headed, possibly assisted by the fading rear shock absorbers on the Johnson Falcon. It was after the race that the Commodores were stripped and Brock and two others, Cullen and Geissler, were judged to have been using illegally-modified heads.
