FERRARI F40
TO BUILD the best supercar Ferrari turned to its F1 team. The F40 was created to comemorate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary of car making and was also the last Ferrari made under Enzo’s supervision. A tube frame draped in kevlar and carbon fibre and 478 horsepower from its 2.9-litre twin turbo V8 pushed the featherweight F40 to over 200mph, the first production car to do so.
It was basically a race car for the road so making it light was a priiority. As little as two-litres of paint was used on each car, so the carbon weave can be seen through the paint. This example, in Rossa Corsa with red cloth trim is chassis number 93065 and has less than 16,000 miles showing on the Veglia instruments. Definitely one after a lotto win.
